Hazy Opal not dropping

Has anyone ever completed the Test of Gesticulation?

Or anyone ever made the https://wiki.project1999.com/Staff_of_The_Magister ?

I have done quite a few ~500 sky raids between blue and green, and no Hazy Opal https://wiki.project1999.com/Hazy_Opal has ever showed up in my logs.

I believe this item to not be dropping.

we have seen 2 hazy opals on green in last few weeks. but no Magician Test of Gesticulation is listed from roanis, and one hand in has come up empty.

I can confirm it still is dropping on Blue.
As a matter of fact I got one yesterday but you're right, it is a very rare drop. I've been going to PoS with Lighthouse almost every Monday for the last 6 month or so and it's the first time I ever saw one drop.
I was lucky to win it, I just need to MQ it now to get the staff. No idea what it looks like (my guess would be it looks like any staff of Elemental Mastery?), but I wanted to complete this quest anyway

Got Roanis to pop

Turned the Hazy Opal to Roanis with my shaman who looted it yesterday

Logged back on my mage, turned the Sweet Nectar, Efreeti Magi Staff & Sphinx Crown and Roanis just ate all items without saying anything, and then he depopped a couple minutes later.

I checked the wiki afterwards, yeah stupid me, and for some reason Roanis only offer 3 tests, not 4 as he should :

Looky here what I found!!, searching on this I did find a website that referred Frederic as the quest chain that had this staff. After reading Roanis's text few times I decided to try Fred's and found this!

I thought about that possibility too after my failed turn in, unfortunately the Magi depops when you chose either Frédéric or Roanis for the tests so I was not able to check what quest Frédéric offered, and the wiki page reads Roanic gives that quest...

So, who's willing to test that theory and possibly lose the items?

Wiki updated. Now we just need to watch out if this is actually a bug and will be changed to Roanis at some point.

Gesticulation quest is currently given by Frederic Calermin.

I see a post (https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?quest=338#m148701992770347210) on allakhazam where they changed their info in 2017, based on comments about Frederic not accepting hazy opal.

If this quest should be Roanis, we can change it.

Any more evidence/research would be appreciated.
