Wood elf or dark warrior?

I don't like min maxing I want to look cool and be able to function as a class lol
Dont like ogres or trolls but the stats are tempting
Which one should I pick?

The warrior race debate is almost entirely aesthetic. In the case with elves it is 100%.

What do you like the look of in plate (classic and velious). Are you ok wearing a fungi with green trees on your chest? For me fungi FashionQuest is very important.

Edit: dark elf will have a considerably easier time questing the Overthere mallet. Might be my nod to an evil elf warrior on that basis alone. Assuming you won’t be using puppet stings to cheese the quest.

Tough choice. Probably the best looking races for a Warrior if you ask me. Dark Elf wins on both old world and Velious helmets. Everyone knows that the most dignified characters go no helm graphic in the end anyways though.

I prefer dark elf for fashion quest usually. However I have an old memory of something about wood elf warriors and walking to the wood elf guild and probably something about admiring a wood elf warrior for picking a bad race but looking really cool.

Barb covers all this + Slam. Kick caps at 149 or somecrap, Bash (which skills from and syncs with Slam) is 200. hits harder, more often and can stop a spell.

While Halfings are the most aesthetically pleasing race, OP hasn't come around yet :/

But we digress...

Between Wood Elf and Dark Elf, there's a few things to consider:

1) Regular Plate Appearance

Both look excellent in regular plate, though some dislike the Wood Elf helm (I happen to be a fan). Ultimately, this is a personal, qualitative decision.

2) Regular Chain Appearance

Some armor will frustratingly have that chain graphic—*cough* fungi tunic *cough*. Between the races, both chain graphics aren't the best, but the advantage is definitely Dark Elf. The tree on the Wood Elf graphic is dorky and makes you look like a Ranger.

3) Velious Plate Appearance
Both rather good, but with ridiculous helmets. I prefer the Dark Elf helmet, but the custom helms are mostly avoidable in favor of no graphic either way.

4) Guise of the Deceiver
Due to Guise, there are plenty of Dark Elf looking Warriors around, so you will be significantly less unique than you would be as a Woodie.

5) Ultravision vs Forage
Both useful abilities. I think Forage is a bit more powerful as it cannot be replicated, but ultravision is definitely super nice.

All races look pretty good with a matching set. Prob is some items are simply better than the set itself. Fungi is a massive item for almost all who can wear it. Even if you have a tank BP a fungi will have its purposes.

Of the two the DE is slightly better fungi fashion to the WE. Neither are exactly great though.

I play a 57 wood elf in full thurg gear. Be warned until you have the thurg gear you will be mistake for a ranger, but it’s totally worth it they look kickass and I have 3050 hp plus good ac so I’m good for tanking too. Very happy with my decision I look like a silver samurai

Seen it in action while my pet held agro. Wood elves can get an angle just outside mobs melee and still smack it.

If you're in one of the bigger guilds and 50+ you can probably camp it. If you wanted to buy it's probably 100k or so, which isn't that much more than the blue price.
