Hello! I haven't played in a few days. So I log on my level 14 SK today and it seems Bind Wound in combat has been nerfed. As soon as I turn on auto attack the bandage fails. Just a few days ago it was working like it always has.

Anyone confirm this?

there was a server reset early this morning it's possible they changed how it works

Yeah I think so. Boooooo! I got down to 40% health, finished off the mob. Targeted another mob who was out of range. Hit my BW macro and as soon as I turned on auto attacked it fails.

So sad.

They really should not keep nerfing things.

They really should not keep nerfing things.

It's time to balance out these nerfs with some buffs based around common sense fixes that just happened to be delayed until Luclin in the real timeline:

-Remove 10% heal nerf
-Change Blade of Carnage to AOW-worthy version.
-Plenty more if we wanna go this route

Obviously should be an end of life patch that green would never see until rolled over.

They nerfed combat bind wound cause people failed to figure it out 20 years ago? Oof. Wonder what other things were in the game but no one had figured out yet.

It wasn't ever possible to begin with.

How do you figure that? Sure if you press bind wound while fighting a mob nothing would happen which is what people were trying to do in 1999. They didnt know you had to turn attack off and type /stand for it to work lol.

How do you figure that?

I mean, /stand wasn't even added until Luclin:

But we've already dug up combat logs showing that being hit would instantly interrupt bind wound in-era:

I never played classic back in the day. P99 is my first Everquest experience. I was playing Ultima Online back then. If bind wound is now how it was on classic then its a good thing I suppose!

If bind wound is now classic then fix dex affecting archery damage!!! Its documented that dex and not str should be used for archery. This seems more of a priority then bind wound.

Some patch notes would be nice.

But does the simultaneous invigorate/bind wounds trick still work though?

/sit off existed though. I originally discovered the trick bandaging near a corpse, looting then realising I had stood up without interrupting bandaging. It took years of EQ before these circumstances aligned for me. I don’t know how others discovered it.

This is why things change and get patched.

Changed on green also or just blue? Not a big deal, just no reason to play a melee character now unless you want to group 100% of the time or bang your head against a wall while soloing. Server has been around for over 10 years, and the game has been around for over 20 years and now you fix it?

Obviously whoever fixed it knew it would not be well received except by the KARENS, because there is no mention of it anywhere other than people figuring it out on the forums. Ah well, back to Ever Caster.

Confirmed. Battle Bind Wound (BBW) has been nerfed/corrected depending on how you look at it.

FYI This fix went in with the recent server reset and will be in the patch notes when the time comes.

You dont have to type /stand you just press the button. You do know how combat bind wound works right?

Also, /stand was only added because the command it replaced, /sit off, was unintuitive for non programmers. There is much evidence against bind wound, but being able to force a stand through a typed command/macro is not one of them.

The next thing I would like to see gone is charming of merchants. Like battle bandaging it is simply something that has little convincing evidence for existing for much of the scope of pur timeline.

For what it was worth this was possible in Kunark, it's part of why they nerfed Naggy and Vox to 52 and under. Warriors and Monks were soloing them. I learned about this from a monk that did it on my server. there was no /stand command but you could press the stand hotkey. I used it on my warrior when I soloed to 60. Naturally I didnt keep logs for 20 years so meh.
