I appreciate the new perspective. That is a lot of people viewing considering the total lack of content. I mean maybe all spider bots but who cares.

I look at the forums every day. I know it will never happen. But with the world in crisis, they should allow this outlet for people. PvP teams please. Lock them. Let’s do this!

Dragonspear is launching in a couple weeks. New PvP server.

It's not teams, and has some custom rules and balancing, but there is a lot of hype for it.

Seems to me like choosing to not launch a new red during all this shit was a idiotic decision but I’m probably missing some critical context from behind the scenes. Regardless it was a dumb idea to not capitalize on it.

I thought the exact same thing. I came to the conclusion that they believed Red to be “toxic” but when you go through the forums, the other servers are completely hostile about camps, guilds, and loot. Sounds like people are ready to ditch /list and contest mobs. UFC is more popular than ever. People are ready to roll.

And it should always be PvP teams (favorite is deity, but any). No new players to a server want to be hesitant of every single person they run into. It’s easier to have a small base of operations.

new vlassic server that is wiped/archived every 2 years, or maybe your toons(1-2 max?) gets ported to r99 at end of its cycle?

only way to keep people from ruining the box for themselves with the tryhard/toxic mentalities and keep the game fresh. Also keeps Rogean's promise that people who played on r99 would never lose their characters

If there were ever to be a new red announced there would be a 10,000 page thread of everyone immediately bitching how the rules suck and aren’t the way they want them to be yada yada. The Powers that be don’t want to see that they want you to be grateful for the free Everquest and volunteer work. It isn’t going to happen.

Probably people who neither play on red nor want a new red server, but still post on the red forums. As you can see above there's still fun pvp to be had, I'm sorry you are stuck playing forumquest as your source of enjoyment

I doubt id play EQ again, mayyyybe some awesome ruleset that i see wouldnt be doomed from the start, like a vanilla teams server would. Ive been doing the last visits to MMOs ive never played, like runescape. I thought damn i would have loved this game back in the day, too bad there isnt something modern like that. Turns out there is, albion online. Im playing that short-mid term for sure, doubt a new Red server would beat eve with swords, tons of actual fun instead of "this isnt Cod". Thats what EQ needs, dont reinvent the wheel, modern coat of paint with a few QoL tweaks. Id play that.

Actually would probably play it with a good ruleset, while making money scouting in Albion, which can be done semi-afk

We would literally celebrate a crumb of info even if it was declared to be pure speculation up front from staff. Just a crumb would set this place off like a trump rally, spawn weeks if not months of discussion and give us something to look forward to. Christmas would be epic. I just hope we get advanced warning so we can plan for binging.
