Reaver, Argent Protector, or Di'zok Imperial Katana ?

which of these would you save for before going after Epic?

2hb option?

I'd say Reaver if you have the plat for it. I don't have an SK. its just my opinion. best ratio

Depends on your budget, but IMHO I'd say Argent Protector. Good stats for all the hybrids that can wield it, AC, and unlike Reaver it's Magic, so it can hurt certain enemies that Reaver cannot.

Personally though, starting at 50 I would consider this:
https://wiki.project1999.com/Zealot%27s_Incarnadine_Sword

The ratio is slightly better at 50 than the numbers show because of Bonus damage, and the proc is good for health upkeep in combat. It's a good placeholder until epic or a quested PoSky sword, or, even better, have it as a swap to trigger Soul Bond, then switch back to Argent Protector or Reaver to maintain an optimal ratio with life drain on the side.

Reaver all day. Works great for most mobs, and the magic thing isn’t a big deal, plenty of cheap weapons if you need something else in a group. If you’re nearing maxing str enjoy hitting for 200+ in the 40s. It also works on any mob in the hole, including undead.

avarantor, have you considered this?

https://wiki.project1999.com/Deathbringer%27s_Rod

Not only is it a solid 2-hander with a 0.75 ratio, but it's dirt cheap. You can probably find one for free if you just ask in EC, no more than 100p max.

Reaver. There aren't really that many mobs it can't hit.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys! Loadsamoney, I do have the Deathbringer's Rod as a matter of fact. It's a very nice, and cheap 2hb! I would also recommend it. Looking to upgrade my 2 handed slash right now.

I'll start watching the trading post, and see if I can get some EC Tunnel time in this week.

Thanks again for all the suggestions :)

I too use Reaver. Sword of Pain in my scabbard and Clay Guardian Shield slinged in case I need magic or lose slam.

Rofl got so scammed by this weapon back in the day.

Guy sold it to me for 4k plat (which was a fair whack for a casual back then before all the get rich guides that float around thes days)...he said it proc'd on the player and as a soloing SK it was a great sword. My like 14 year old dumbarse self bought it...boy was I supprised.

I don’t understand dispel mechanics at all in EQ. I’m guessing if a mob has thorns or an HP buff, the sword won’t dispel them?

Worst case scenario I can see is if a shaman slows a mob, and then this sword would cancel the slow? Do I have that right?

Pull with siphon strength and then have the shaman slow when it gets to camp. If sword goes off, just reapply siphon and you dont touch the slow.

the sword dispells the wielder, not the target, its the biggest letdown in EQ :(

Is wiki wrong then?

“The proc does NOT effect the user or party members in its effect radius. Only effects mobs (used sword religiously and never saw a fellow party member/player get affected by it)”

i personally have used this sword on my SK and it never dispelled ME.... only would dispel the mob i was attacking ... so yeah if i snared them sometimes it would dispel , which was annoying.

Glowing black sword is the common one that self dispells.

Thanks! I assumed there just was no effect in the game that worked properly because I actually thought the glowing black sword was a bug lol I did a lot of assuming.
