View Full Version : Full Screen Mode Keeps Jumping to Windowed Mode

Hi All,

I used Duxa's All In One Installer to install EverQuest and I must say it looks great in full screen! The problem I am having is sometimes when clicking on the screen it will drop me to windowed mode, which is smaller since I am running full screen at 1920x1080 on a 2560x1440 monitor. Not sure why this is happening but when I placed myself back in full screen mode by doing an Alt-Enter, the cursor will be in the very corner of the screen and if I click in that corner, it will drop me back out to windowed mode. Any thoughts as to prevent this? I hate the bar at the top in windowed mode and can't find a good resolution to fit the screen perfectly with this monitor.

Thanks,

Bal

Need to test different resolutions in full screen until one works in my experience
Start at 1024 768
Convert to full screen
Then take it from there

This is a common problem, and I really think the solution Mcoy provided is best. If you use "full screen windowed" mode you get the "full screen" benefits you want (minus a few pixels for your OS bar), but all the benefits of playing a modern (ie. windowed) game.

I was also going to recommend the slash command that lets you specify the exact window dimensions so you can set the vertical slightly higher so the titlebar is off-screen, but I can't remember it. Does anyone remember that command?

Make sure your windowed and fullscreen settings are the same as your display resolution. In the ini file.

Thanks guys for all of the replies. Messing with the viewport settings and everything you linked I was able to get it nice in windowed mode without the font looking crunched and smaller than other lines. Thanks!
