Trying Red for the first time :D

Hi all,

Decided to give Red a go since I'm having a heck of a time finding a group / solo camps on Green atm.

I've also never PVP'ed in EQ in my life so I figured this would be kind of fun to try.

I was wondering if anyone could provide some advice on how to get started. Server pop is obviously kind of low, it's a bit difficult to find buffs or really get started. Any tips on what to do is GREATLY appreciated.

Suggested class/race combo:

If normal gamer gurl persona-

Female High Elf Mage
Female Wood Elf Druid

Or if goth gurl persona -

Female Dark Elf Cleric

Or if pretending to be witty/tough gamer gurl persona (basically a dyke) -

Female x-race Rogue.


This is the best route to go on Red99. A pretend e-Thot opens many doors. You will be lacquered with gifts that you can funnel to a new toon that better reflects you, i.e. your real choice of class/race combo.

Ask in OOC for buffs people are usually kind enough to hop on a druid and help with buffs and throw you some starter gear. Don't be soft skinned if you get pked just call LNS and loot your corpse and move on.

exp is 27x faster, if you group up it goes even faster, red is amazing it just needs a wipe and it will blow up to 1000 players

There is almost no PvP at low levels, so don't worry about it.

I always recommend not being anonymous. Being visible just increases the chances someone will notice you and either buff, drop some items or even log on an alt and play.

Leveling can be crazy fast, so don't be surprised if you are level 50 and still have some cloth armor in spots.

There are no spots to go for buffs or sell items. Not much of a low level economy to speak of.

People mostly just show up and do some drive by buffs if they are not doing anything..

Haha no not at all. My buddy (came here from Green with me) and I got pretty well hooked up. We've made it to 18 already and are continuing to grind it out.

This community is awesome and quite a few that have commented here have been instrumental in getting us up and running. We'd like to thank you all VERY much for everything you've done to help us with our transition :) looks like we are going to stick it out on Red we are just having way too much fun :D
