I just found this project.
I have not played the game in like 20 years and get a big nostalgia flash when I saw this.
I played at the start of EQ and stopped after Planes of Power.
I think I still have all the boxes and CDs etc.
What is this Titanium Edition that I would need to play project 1999?

Would mean a massive nostalgia trip to play EQ again.

Welcome to the project! I played from launch as well and had some on and off until planes of power.

Do you happen to have any of your old log files and screenshots from back in the day? Developers use these to try and mine for classic data, they are very helpful to the project.

In any case, hope you enjoy the server!

So basically, I need to re-buy the game again?
Can't use the boxes I have from 20 years ago?
Base game + Kunark + Velious + Luclin + PoP.

Game files...hmm...maybe if I have some 20 year old backups somewhere. I can check, but don't keep your hopes up.

It requires the specific titanium client to run. That is what the developers used and P99 will not work without it.

you can.. umm.. find a copy out there on the high seas *cough*... or buy one like I did.

Thanks. I installed all files, overwriting as needed.
Then I renamed the files I was said to do so.
When I launch the game I get to Login/password and Account. I select Account get get a webpage eqbl.station.sony.com that is unavailable. Now what?

Is the password the same as on the forum?
If so, may be nice to mention this when creating the forum password - I selected to have chrome generate and save password...very complex to type.

yep, don't lose it. write it down and keep it in storage in case you ever take a break but forget what your information is. The admins will not provide it.

I changed the password to something possible to type.
I can login to the forum using the password...but when I try in the game login, it says wrong password.

Forum accounts and Game accounts are not the same. You can manage your game accounts through your forum account though.

Groups = any tank
Raids = I dunno.

Rangers are under rated. A great class.

The old trifecta of Tank/Healer/CC have the easiest time, while hybrids tend to spend more time looking for group.

Best advice I can give you is reroll your old characters, try out classes you never played, and just enjoy the game at your own pace with your own goals.

I recently started a ranger, had never played one before even back in the day, and am enjoying it a lot. Feels so far like a nice balance between soloing and grouping. Also holy hell how will I ever again play this game without the tracking skill??

Note however that those who are into raiding, which isn't me, say rangers become a poor choice at that point.

Just play your fave. Game is for fun. Be the class you want to be. Don't worry about your raid guild resume.
