In classic, when you trained a point into a skill for the first time, that skill went up to the level of the character.

So for example, if you get Dodge at level 10, and you forget to train it until level 15, your dodge would be at 15 from the first point you trained it. If you trained Dodge at level 10 as soon as you got it, your dodge skill would start out at 10. This only worked on the first point, going from skill of 0 to skill of (your level). The second time you trained a skill, no matter what level you were, it only went up by one point.

On this server, no matter what your level is, you only get one point. That isn't how it worked on classic.

Tradeskills had an additional limitation that they couldn't be trained above 20. But if you waited until 20 to put your first point into the skill, you wouldn't have to waste so many points. Non-trade skills trained up to your current level because they didn't have that limitation.

The second thing I found was for the spell True North. The levels for which various classes can memorize the spell are all wrong. My Wizard can't memorize it until level 8 for example, and I'm pretty sure its supposed to be a level 1 spell for everyone (or 9 if hybrids get it).

I just wanted to add. Made a ranger, got to level 3 today. Trained the forage skill (was a half-elf and didn't get it for free like wood elves). And it automatically want to a skill of 3 instead of 1. That's how its supposed to work for everything. But it only works for some (or at least 1 anyways) skill.

Thanks for fixing the training a point bug in today's patch (I haven't checked but I assume its fixed).

The level of newly learned skills are set to the level of the player, not the level the skill is obtainable.

The True North usable levels bug remains.
