Herro, I was wondering if anyone had experience as an iksar warrior getting faction with the neriak guards / merchants / banker. I heard you could do the wine quest to gain faction, but I've also heard conflicting reports about the quest npc conning dubious vs apprehensive to iksar, preventing any way to turn in the quest.

I've also had a source tell me the neriak guards are KoS to iksar at the start.

Does anyone have definitive knowledge about this on P99? Thanks.

I just did like a week ago. I was surprised to notice the guards started out dubious to me as an iksar monk. I did no faction work with neriak prior. I was able to buy the wine from a bar with sneak as the vendors were dubious also, only got 16 stacks. I was not kos to the cleric or warrior guild or any other mobs except the necro/sk guild and the rogue guild.

The turn in guy in the library started threateningly to me but did not aggro to me at level 24. I was able to use sneak but the mob would face me after turn in. If I knew I could turn in quests feigned on this server, I would have to make it go by faster. After turning in the 2 bags worth of wine, I was apprehensive to guards and warmly to the vendors and banker there. Without sneak or feign, I suppose you could go with the open trade and have a friend invis you before turn in I believe.

Ah cool, good to know. So the invis quest turn-in trick works on this server?

Or you could have someone charm him. That will make him indifferent, which is good enough to do the quest.

so... starting out, iksar are non-kos to other evil races on this server?

If you are low level, you can get a ton of greater light stones and turn them in at south ro gypsies till the wine person is dubious. Dubious is good enough.

I always thought Iksar started out as scowls to the good races and at the very least threatening to the evil races of norrath.

Can anyone say for certain what it used to be like back in Kunark?

yes. all races are supposed to hate iksar if memory serves.

I ain't complaining~

I had more than my fill of EQ faction grinding back on Live when I aligned with the Giants for my SK's Velious armor, then swapped to Dwarves to get the Gauntlets of Dragonslaying then back to Giants to get the Belt of Dwarfslaying, all the meanwhile my guild was race agnostic so I had to take hits while I ground.

Though if there is a future change and current Iksar aren't grandfathered, could we get advanced notice so I can go turn in another 2000 Wine? I rather like having a place to bank and vendor. =p

Welp, turns out the guards outside and inside Neriak conned dubious to me. The quest NPC was threatening however. So a nice enchanter ended up charming the NPC for me:)

Didn't try the invis trick because he was white con and probably would've attacked me.

2 bags of wine later and I am kindly. Thanks for the help guys.

Just a friendly reminder - you may not be KOS to the guards or the merchants, but you're still hated by the NPCs from the various guilds around Neriak.

And as such, be extra careful when trying to bank. There is an NPC named Razran F`Lok near the bank who aggro'd me today when I was running through the streets. Luckily my Feign Death worked on the first attempt, but you don't have that ability. So just be cautious in the Commons and be especially cautious near open doors. ;)

Yea, he ended up killing me -_- Wish I had read this post before that happened. Luckily there was a friendly cleric / enchanter from Divinity that rezzed me (Raiyn) and gave me invis.
