I've got an issue with mouse looking, and I hope someone else had the same and found a solution.

When my mouse is completely stationary, and I right click, then start looking around, everything works great. But, if my mouse is in motion at all when I click, my view will either look all the way up, all the way down, or spin in a circle depending on which direction my mouse was moving when I clicked.

I've been training myself to make sure that I'm not moving the mouse when I plan to look around, but it still bites me pretty regularly, and usually when I'm fighting something and trying to make moves quickly.

Just crossing my figures hoping someone out there knows what I'm talking about!

Try

- Using WinEQ2 client (fixes many problems) its free

- Set the compatibility mode for the EQgame.exe in your P99 install location to windows XP service pack 2

- Set the fps limiter in display options to 60fps or less (NOT the option where you change your screens refresh rate in advanced options)

- If its a mouse with a lazer sensor check to see if a hair/piece of lint is lodged in front of it (even ultra fine strands of material will case the mouse movement to skip and behave strangely)

Not sure if these will help but it doesn't hurt try. I have done the first 3 above and the game runs near flawlessly for me aside from the out of pitch midi problems caused by remapping midi in win 10 with BassMIDI, VirtualMIDIsynth or OmniMIDI.

Is there anything unusual about the rig you play on?

I tried all this, but had different issues with the mouse while running wineq2. This may sound odd, but I play with a steamlink so i can set up in the living room and keep my PC hardwired into the router. In this situation when i try to run WinEQ2, the mouse and keyboard commands aren't being recognized.

I've had the same issue, here's what i've noticed.

It only happens when i am playing in windowed mode. When i toggle my house to be mouse look, my ui cursor poofs and i see a windows cursor pop up. EQ screen moves like it should till that windows mouse cursor dragons onto another monitor, then eq gets funky and sometimes freezes
