Random text from login

Anyone on staff care to explain the random text on Emu login screen lately?

One curious one today showed as

server : all the members are abiding by the project 1999 rules. Frequent or Reoccuring violations by members or the guild as whole could result in the guild being disbanded and/or possible ad....

(literally showed this giant long text as a server, kinda looks like a email to a guild or conversation being parses into code to me)

Anyone care to offer explanations to us lame's trying to play here and having to deal with this crap popping into the login server? Sure looks like a breech of coding to me.

I have 13 screenshots showing tons of misc random crap on login server, and once you hit admin it all poofs. Would love some form of explanation from one of you akkadius - secrets - nilbog - rogean. Either can chime in and holler about whats up?

One of you can shine light.


Will post all the pictures ive taken soon as staff asks for it. Would appreciate a real response, not the generic email that implies nothing will be done.

I'm trying to figure out why you're demanding a response from P99 admins regarding a server they have no control over. I thought you were new so I was going to keep the snark down but I see you've been around so you're completely aware that the login screen shows dozens of servers that you know have nothing to do with P99.

Perhaps the folks here http://www.eqemulator.org/ would have an answer for you.

Guess i did sound demanding. Didn't intend to be but was tired I am sure so short and rude sounding i was.

I asked emu mods and devs, none replied. Also akkadius is an emu DEV, so i asked here as he has done coding here as well as prob 50 servers on emu.

Thought you were an old player too? Don't you know your devs?

Guess the real answer is anyone with coding knowledge will not discuss why emu coding is leaking out gibberish or emails and files and code in server login.

I myself was curious. Figured Technical Discussion was the spot to ask.

Would love some answers, before client sides are corrupted as well. :eek:

Now im certainly suspicious of emu being hacked and possibly our client logins as well. As many players aren't even able to log into the game now or recover their accounts, and today on login i see this listed as server available....

Just keep logging in, don't pull the curtain back.
