I'm not sure what "modern EQ servers" you are referencing, or what you mean.

Watching atm. To me what seems to be the main problem on P99 is Rogean just isnt a pvper and seems to have a hard time grasping what those players want. They also seem to not care about feedback, or at least its hard to gauge. Like you said theres a lack of communication. Thats a constant coming from my experience, just not for a couple of years, but since day 1 launch of red in late 2011. You just cant tell what ideas they like, what was the reasoning behind atrocious decisions like the one to nerf xp as pop was dying (somewhere in 2012-2013). Only velious succeeded in turning that back a little, for a short while.

Its weird you say that ruleset doesnt matter because it definitely does. Theres 2 scenarios that will make me come back here on 2.0 launch:

1) Somehow, they pull off a great ruleset that i gauge will be conducive to the pop sticking around mid-long term. To me, a Rallos-like server with a few custom tweaks. That will actually make me play here.

2) They decide to go with a hilariously bad server setup, like a teams server where high levels can attack lowbies, and people in range lose xp when dying. That will make me come back here just to popcorn on the forum drama.
