Ancient Wurm Hide Robe - Wrong Graphic

In 2015, Ele had proven that the look of the Ancient Wurm Hide Robe was incorrect for the timeline that we were at on Blue in 2015. Below is the closed thread with proofs.

It has been known that at some point during the classic timeline, the Ancient Wurm Hide Robe graphic was upgraded to the Miragul's Robe look from the basic Red Sr. Apprentice Robe look. I remember looting the this robe in my classic days, during velious, after it had already been changed - beautiful robe.

Below is evidence that will show beyond any reasonable doubt that the upgraded graphic of the Ancient Wurm Hide Robe starting with a patch sometime in early October of 2001 or sooner. (current to our timeline)

The Case again a possible Fashionquest Robe:

The only other robe that had this graphic during this era was the Miragul's robe. The reason's below why it is highly unlikely that said wizard put a Miragul's Robe for this screenshot is the following.

1) Miragul's Robe is a "no drop" robe, required for the paladin's Fiery Avenger epic quest which requires several other no drop dragon drop items to turn in in order to kill the mob that drops this robe, after which the robe is part of several turn ins for the paladin epic.
2) This wizard would have had to do the paladin epic quest (or someone very close to him would have) and then loot this robe for fashionquest purposes only.
3) "Fashionquest" for this type of item highly demanded by another class for their epic quest during this era was non-existent. Something that would not have been logical during the classic timeline given the amount of paladins that would have had a priority to loot all of the dragon "no drop" pieces ahead of this wizard during this era. (October 2001)

Indeed! When this happened on blue in 2015, this was the correct move to correspond with the timeline on classic.

Now that we have moved passed the Chardok revamp era (October 2001) , the Ancient Wurm Hide Robe should be changed / upgraded back to the new graphic. (Miragul’s Robe)

I haven’t found any, but not a specialist in this sort of thing by any means. The evidence that Ele found in 2015 (referenced in my original post) pointed to the robe being the red newbie robe in August, 2001.

My new evidence shows that that the robe graphic upgrade on classic was implemented between August and October of 2001. Thus the robe should absolutely have the Miragul’s look again on blue server.

Hello,
I noticed with the last patch, the Boots of the Vindicator were changed. They were previously a silver, original non-velious texture, pretty much looking like fine plate. Now, they seem to be a dull gold/brown color. Any chance we could get these changed back? One of the reasons that I wanted these boots was for the plain look they had along with great stats. I miss my old boots!

We changed the look of a few items with the last patch. While your preference obviously would be that this particular item remain as it was, we thought it better that it look a little more unique. A few other items were cosmetically changed as well.
In the long run, we understand that it's just as likely that people will prefer the old graphic as it is that they will like the new one. I think the old saying goes something like this: I don't know art, but I know what I like. We have to go with our instincts on this sort of thing.

This last patch was the 9/11/01 patch, so probably rule robe to a [Sep1999] era rule?

I never could find an image of what the new vindi boots should look like, I believe new Luclin graphics had a different texture / look than the non-Luclin models anyways.

I had this on my alt and don't remember it ever being changed. It was red when I looted it very early in Velious. I just logged on live and yeah now it does look like a red Robe of the Oracle. The question is, when was it changed?

Eccezan's evidence is very compelling. Every other caster in those shots from LoS is wearing a Velious robe of some kind, and of course they are as their guild was on the cutting edge of content. Please change Ancient Wurm Hide Robe to the correct robe graphic!

Well I was recently in ToV and got one of these babies. It seems Verant has upgraded some of the equipment in there, including this little sweet thing up there.
AC:30, INT:10, MANA:50 and of course the nice 15 vs all saves ...

On enchanters and ac; AC might be nice to have high but when ToV as an enchanter all you do is tash/dispel, which if you are smart enough doesnt get you killed. In ToV the extra 20 in ac compared to other robes doesnt help you much. They STILL hit for 700 points of dam ;)

Yep, its been upgraded. I have one and I love it, mainly because it has as good resists as any robe in the game. And it looks like a dark, blood red oracle roble, not a red senior apprentice robe. BTW, only fairly uber guilds are going to get this robe, so its not really a question of risk vs reward. Its a question of getting it fairly easily or not getting it at all.

if this drops off Dagarn the Destroyer or Lord Kreizenn. I think Dagarn, but I'm not positive. I think it's not bad, but it should be the best robe in the game for how hard it is to get - and it's not. It needs a better texture (it looks like a red Sr Apprentice robe), +200 hp/mana, and flowing thought II, and it'd be about right.
