I know it's all about personal preference, but I was curious as to who likes what class the most and why. Personally I've always like hybrid tanks (pal sk) because warriors seemed extremely dry even if they were better tanks. Having spells to look forward to made leveling a tank fun. SK feign death also = awesome.

I already have a main but its not an sk. Am just bored in between pulls and wanted to get some discussion on this topic.
Shaman. SoW, regen, buffs, pet, cannibalize, no downtime, meleeing, debuffing, kiting, nuking, dotting - lots and lots of options and versatility.

Bard definitely requires hitting buttons the most!

What? No Clerics? lol
How anyone can main a cleric in this game is beyond me.

When I roll a toon it is important that they can solo because I hate waiting around forever for a group. My first toon in EQ was a monk and I really wanted to roll one here but my personal life doesn't allow me to commit to 2 or 3 hour grouping sessions anymore.
While many classes can solo I like the utility of the Shaman and that is my prefered class. :)

Yeah I enjoy bards and swarm kiting is probably the greatest thing ever but I'm more partial to grouping. Also swarm kiting tends to rage every person in whatever zone you're kiting in which sucks on such a small pop private server.
For whatever reason I rarely if ever played casters. I think a druid was the highest caster I ever leveled. Soloing is nice but pretty boring.

Ranger. There is no alternative.

Depends on my mood.
Back on live playing a necro was very smooth because I could spend an hour killing non-stop and log off feeling accomplished. Having FD as a get out of death card also takes away the stress of thinking about corpse runs.
Warrior (or tank type in general) was always fun when I wanted to be a team leader. Controlling the rate of pulls, positioning mobs, etc. I leveled my warrior on live doing nothing but LDoNs and really learned the intricacies of the class.
Wizard used to be my favorite when I just wanted to relax. 2-shot a stationary mob with ice comet, then afk for 6 minutes while doing real life stuff.
Bard is the most fun for traveling and exploring the world of Norrath.
Enchanter of course is like playing Batman. Got everything I could ever need in my utility belt... err spell book. Enchanter soloing is the strategy game within Everquest. Nothing beats the feeling of breaking a camp all by yourself.

I had to vote for Cleric. Being able to root adds, swing my hammer, and determine who lives or dies is simply too good.
Necro: Ridiculously powerful and versatile. You get a pet, DOTs, snares, UD charm, FD, harmshield, twitch, healing, lifetaps, fear, more DOTs, root, mez, self mana regen better than crack, etc.
Ridiculously good at soloing, and an amazing group character (even though people seem to not give necro jack shit for credit as a group character)
Monk: Nothing beats pulling. You completely control the speed at which your group is fighting, and it's up to you to feel out the group and figure out a good rate to be pulling mobs, as well as strategically placing mobs near the group to be "on deck" for killing if doing so is prudent for the camp, allowing the group mobs to kill nearly 100% of the time. The puller is what makes the difference between a good group and a GREAT group, and I love monk pulling. FD allows the luxury to just run around doing whatever the hell I want and not worrying about "Oh crap, I have like 6 mobs on me now." And that's not even to mention the outstanding DPS monks can lay down.
They're also an extremely capable melee soloer, which makes me like the class even more.

Shaman is the most complex and most difficult class in the game to master, so I picked that.

bard imo... back on live thats what i played...
pull, CC, slow if you had no shaman/chanter, buffs they could do it all not to mention stay away from a bard when he is kiting one of the best classes at soloing in the game!
I made 500kplat in a week soloing named mobs when GOD came out becuase i could and i dont think that any other class could have done it due to the nature of the mobs and where they were...

If we're after the most complex and most difficult class to master, i'll vote bard, sorry. Also, they are quite fun to play.

I really enjoy the 'toys' my Shaman and Ranger get, SoW, Buffs, Heals, (ranger-track, Shaman-pet) etc.
But at the end of the day, I'm all Brokeback Mountain for my necro. "I wish I knew how to quit you"

Bard. This class has the most variety and is the most unique. They can cast while moving and only a few songs use mana.
I'd say monk is close second. Being able to FD brings so much freedom to the table.
I'm excited to know only 4 of you agree with me.
Less competition.

Obviously the ranger. That's why I loved this game in 1999-02.
And I kept playing a ranger up till 2010. So sue me. I lucked out choosing the right class.

I voted ranger because I'm an asshole like that
I'm playing around with my first bard and I'm having a blast. I played a warrior monk rogue and shadowknight on live -- it's quite the change. Much more fun than the previous classes I've played.

Got to be druid for me, the freedom you have is just amazing: you can track, blast, teleport, CC to some extend, DoT, heal, buff and if you're a hobbit, you're even allowed to have 4+ meals a day without anyone having to say anything.

I have to say monk. with most other classes, running blind into a zone is scary and risky.. with a monk, I feel like i can kill 80% of mobs I run into, and 'lol fd' the rest.
