Login Timeout/Blank Server List/Server Lag/Website lag

All sorts of lag and timeout issues with P99 for me right now. Log in timeouts, slight server lag while playing, zone in load times through the roof, this website actually loads slowly as well. All other online activities for me are normal and yes I have reliable and fast internet.

Noticed the lag yesterday, now today the log in issues. Friend of mine gave up trying to get in a couple days ago because of it and now it's hit me as well.

Half a dozen times? More? I eventually gave up and tried again later and it worked. Now it is straight up not connecting, not even giving me a time out message. Something is funky with P99 this month.

You can try flushing your DNS. In your cmd prompt type:

ipconfig /flushdns

ditto. Either it just hangs for a couple of minutes after typing in my login info, then says it timed out, OR, the server select screen pops up, but no servers show up.

Every once in a while I get in, but then it crashes when zoning, and is real laggy

Other online stuff is fine, and tried rebooting, that did not help

the problem is not p99, went to try another server and the same thing happened there. Looks like the eqemulator as a whole is F'd up

Did you ever get your issue fixed? The same thing happening to me.

Yeah it's called trying it over and over until it works and then coping with a 500 ping on a 20 year old game with gigabit internet.

I don't think there is a fix for our side, I think they just need to get their shit together after this latest patch fucked everything up.

This is so sad. Niether of my computers working all of the sudden. running wine on macs. problem is happening on both simultaneously, so it isnt isolated ><

This isn't a problem with P99. The problem is on your (or your ISPs) end.

EQ's netcode sucks and can't handle packet loss until you're fully logged into a character. Solution is to figure out what peering partner you all have in common and complain to them that their gateway is dropping packets like crazy. This happens once in a while until the peering partner gets their shit together, and it always tends to affect a small minority of people (not just 1, but not a ton of people either)

Or use a VPN
