Ropethunder has fixed several texture issues (https://www.project1999.com/forums/showthread.php?t=87281), but I noticed more today.

If anyone sees these type of problems when playing.. report them please.
One day we might have them all fixed and/or know the scope of the problems :P

Male and Female Barbarians seem to have this problem.

Male Barbarian with GEBs. My female barbarian with banded mail boots sports black footies too.

Trakanon should be a different size than the other dragon models.

The only issue with his model/size that I know of is that his hit box should be extraordinarily larger than it is now. Needs to be hardcoded by race.

Red square is a pet tanking from this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FK-x0rzc4Kw) video. Trakanon shouldn't run around as much as he does. He should simply turn and eat people from a distance due to gigantic hit box.

All issues from above have been corrected aside from Ton Firepride model (Qeynos Citizen male).

Here are some more I have noticed over the past few months.

I'm not positive on the gypsy feet, but it certainly looks wrong. Could be proven either way with a classic screenshot of Qeynos Citizen female (race 71) feet.

These are now fixable. If you know of any of these issues, please report them so they can be corrected.

The relevant patcher and .bat file are being rebuilt to be distributed. You should see a release for it soon.

Everything in this thread is now fixed, aside from the Barbarian horns.

Everything in this thread requires client interaction. It cannot be fixed from our side, so we've done the work for you. The files that exist in your Everquest directory are the ones that need changing, and we can't give you new ones.

Last year, Ropethunder created a file which fixes transparency or black splotch issues. Since that exists, it enables us to fix reported issues.

Within a week or so, I'll upload 2 files. They will be optional to use, and will fix everything in this thread and more. If you discover anything not already mentioned, I'll try to get it in the release.

Weird, tried a couple things to fix that to no avail. Looks like some type of visible wire connecting their feet.

Has Trakanon's wings been addressed? I remember someone posted a screenshot of the holes in his wings being transparent, but here on P99, there are just black splotches.

IIRC, the Erudite helm thing is actually a classicly reproduced "bug" here. Male Erudite helms took on the texture/shade of the glove slot or something for a very long time on Live, not sure when it was fixed.

Male erudite hoods should take on the color and sometimes texture of the gloves being worn. Was always like this with pre-Luclin erudite model.

Human / half elf visors need the slit cut out too.
This is already fixed.

Well, eqlive finally fixed some of these. No one should be forced to experience sealed up visors and black feet :P If this thread served as inspiration, great!

Please keep reporting these issues as you encounter them.

- Corrected an issue where pre-Luclin human and half elf helmets no longer had transparencies on their visors.
- Corrected an issue where a number of pre-Luclin character models were incorrectly displaying black textures or splotches of black on their otherwise working textures. This was most noticeable on dark elf and halfling breastplates, and on nearly every model's boots.
- Corrected an issue where the Eye of Zomm had been changed from white to black.

As soon as I installed this, I'm crashing at character select. Any idea for a fix? I tried redownloading the files and reinstalling. Also restarted computer.


edit: Fixed. Apparently this is not compatible with the texture upgrade from the Tech Forum. Now to decide which to keep!

I've got the same problem. I'm using the new textures, but I ran the file. How do I fix this short of a complete reinstall? I'm an idiot, help me out :(

I had to reinstall everything to get it to work. I definitely will just keep the higher resolution zones instead of going back to the out of focus looking textures. I wish they would work together though.

What information should we provide to help figure out what the issue is? I had to reinstall the high-res graphics to stop crashing which eliminated the texture patch for me.

As this is completely client-side, I'd say as much information as possible to compare with others not having issues.

-operating system
-video card (geforce or radeon?)
-fresh install of titanium from disc/iso?
-any additional changes beyond connecting to the server

I'm of little help because I've never used the texture upgrade.

Perhaps I sounded the alarm too soon, figured it was just incompatible but sounds hardware related. Here are my specs:

Windows 7 Professional
Intel Core 2 Duo E6750
Nvidia geforce 9800 GTX +


Installed from iso
Using Solaria UI
Client crashing upon loading character select screen or directly after clicking enter world.
Only mod is the high-res textures downloaded from the link in tech forum and pasted into EQ folder as per the instructions.

Okay here's a good opportunity to explain how to fix these. This is completely client-side now, so I hope someone picks up the project.

When I released the patcher here, I also posted on eqemulator with more detailed instructions. http://www.eqemulator.org/forums/showthread.php?t=35929

Step #1 was to isolate which zones contained an evil eye texture. I used this query.

set rt_beholder_chr=behhe0002.bmpOn line 447 I added:

After watching utenan's video 'Everquest Mysteries (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SAyxdS1SSoo)', I saw the frozen goblin king in permafrost had black crown issues:

Fixed.

Add

Bump for some changes:

Fixed a couple things with the transparency patcher:

Wrote a process that deletes your current .old backups when you run patch_s3d_textures.bat - this was causing reversion issues in the case that you ran the batch multiple times. Basically, if you ran patch_s3d_textures.bat while .old backup files already existed, it would revert to and then apply the transpfix.exe changes to those instead of applying the changes to your current S3Ds. So now you can run it consecutively without losing your current S3Ds.
The Druushk/Cekenar/Lady Nevedaria wing changes to veeshan_chr.s3d were failing due to some undeclared files in patch_s3d_textures.bat - that's also been fixed.

Someone might want to check my work - I'm basically just guessing as to what's supposed to be in the batch utility. When it calls transpfx.exe to patch veeshan_chr.s3d it references mp_veeshan_chr, which was never declared, so I just went back to the rt_veeshan_chr declaration and added mp_veeshan_chr:

Seems I can write the previous changes off as legit, as there have been no issues since.

I've also added an -mp entry to patch_s3d_textures.bat for the Ulak weapon, which had its transparency broken similarly to helm visors, etc.

Step 1: figure out which texture it is. Looks to be chbrgrate.bmp in charasis_obj.s3d.

Step 2: open up patch_s3d_textures.bat and add lines for it like you the ones you see in there. Need to figure out whether the patch needed is "rt" or "mp"... Try "rt" first.

Probably something like:

Made some minor updates to patch_s3d_textures.bat:


Made the backup purge process check for the existence of backups before purging
Deleted a couple unnecessary duplicate call entries for qey2hh1_chr and qey2hh1_obj
Alphabetized all call entries for easier editing
Cleaned up comment lines a bit for readability

Hmm, are you sure those aren't supposed to be black? Can you find a classic image of how they're supposed to look? It's possible this is a Titanium issue along with a bunch of other Velious armored feet, and can't be fixed using the transparency patcher, but if they're supposed to be different I could perhaps recolor them and add them to the patched texture files that I'll link to here (https://www.project1999.com/forums/showthread.php?t=87281) in a bit.
