Crashed While Zoning, Spell File Out of Date

About 30 minutes ago I went to zone into West Freeport, I crashed while zoning. Went to relog, got back to my character screen, clicked enter world and crashed again. Had a few odd timeout errors when trying to log back in. Finally got back in now it says my spellfile is out of date. I reinstalled v8 patch and I'm still stuck with spell files out of date message and cannot log back in. Any ideas what I should do to fix this issue?

try deleting the filed that the v8 patch has out of your directory first, then copy over again, and try again. Could possibly need a fresh install.. seems to happen to people occasionally with the patches..

Option 1 worked, Thank the heavens because I was not looking forward to a fresh install. Why the heck deleting the files manually worked when overwriting them did not I'll never know. Thank you Pres, that was a quick and very helpful response!

Well it kind of worked, I got back into the game, but now my sky is jet black with a purple sun... Looks like I'm in some altered world hehe. Also I just crashed while zoning again. Looks like I'm doing a fresh install :-(

I keep crashing while zoning too, it just started today, yesterday no crashes at all.

Having the same problem starting today. Also having problems with the login server. No servers are showing up and getting weird timeouts. Just keep closing and reopening eq and eventually it works.
