Hello,
I just installed and when I log into my character, all of the UI windows seem to have no skin applied. Each window just has a black border with a semi-transparent black background.
The big EQ button is missing as well.
Any idea what would be causing this?

Which server? Because green and teal have velious UI enforced.

Pretty much what Telin said. You cannot use custom UI's on the Green and Teal server.

Hmm... I tried /loadskin velious but nothing changed. I have attached a picture of what my screen looks like.

Yep, that is the Velious UI, the only available UI at this time. Later on, they'll open it up to more options.
You can right-click any window to give it Texture and then again to give it Tint Color: Black to make things much more legible.

Thank you, I just loaded 1999 and thought I was missing something. Turns out it was doing exactly what the sever would allow. haha

Check out this thread https://www.project1999.com/forums/showthread.php?t=338574 for some good tips on how to set up your viewport so you're not cutting off 30% of your view using widescreen mode.

same here - trying to do stuff as recc by the wiki such as binding buttons, etc, but it says "press EQ button at the bottom of the screen" and there isn't one,
Is this because I'm on Green?
Is this because I'm on Green?
Yes. Drag a hotkey from your "Social" window (alt+m) or make a blank one using /hot <name of key> <command> for example "/hot sit /sit" will make a hotkey labelled sit and performs that action. To add additional commands, change the colors, etc right click the hotkey and the edit window will appear.

Thanks for the very swift response! I will try that tomorrow. Meanwhile, just to say that p99 is excellent. I'd forgotten a lot over the last 17 years, but much still remains. I don't think EQ would make it toda though, not because of graphics, but because it is hard core stuff :)
