View Full Version : Try this fix for 1017 / fast animations

(at your own risk, i'm not responsible if you ruin your hardware). But I mention this because it took me FOREVER to figure this out and multiple installs and giving up a few times. But it finally worked when I UNDERclocked my processors to 3.7Ghz. It fixed error 1017 / disconnect and animations running super fast with a previous install. And I don't see it mentioned in the FAQ (maybe I missed it). But its probably a common problem since most computers are faster nowadays. Works even with a quad core and without disabling any or even updating drivers (although updating still can be a good idea).

Here's AMD's software that lets you do it. https://www.amd.com/en/technologies/amd-overdrive
Just go to the CPU tab and reduce the multiplier to 3.7. Anything above that didn't work for me. Again, at your own risk but usually underclocking isn't a problem.

4.2ghz should be the breaking point.

Maybe, and would be nice. But I have a 4.2Ghz quad core and nothing worked until I lowered it to 3.8 (then had to lower to 3.7 the next day). And I tried a TON of other stuff related to disabling cores, etc. And I heard of this in some other thread and they said it has to do with some speed hacking restriction. Either way, worth trying if nothing works.
