Snorted all the kickstarter money for Pantheon and had the big one.

This man has had a larger impact on my life than most people.
...after all, we’re all here on his account.

I get the feeling we are going to hear some very bad news about the state of pantheon in the near future

Oh my god.
I feel like I've been immersed in Brad's stuff, researching old newsgroup posts and reading about early EQ. Wasn't expecting this. Feels like losing an old friend.

Anyone know what happened to him to cause his death?

A significant part of my life, so many good memories... made RL friends across the world who i first met in EQ, and after all these years we are still here reliving his legacy!
RIP Brad, my thoughts go out to your family and friends!

Yeah the way the article/s didn't mention anything about cause of death makes me feel like it was something that they'd feel mean or tacky mentioning.
RIP to a real one.
Thanks for the 20 years of on an off fun.

We wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for Brad & co’s vision- Everquest heavily influenced the creation of WoW and the MMO genre would be different if it weren’t for the ‘vision’.
Brad started Pantheon in direct response to the overwhelming desire this community has for a new MMO that captures the essence of that original ‘vision’. In past videos (during early Pantheon creation) he talks about the many emails and messages received via social media in hopes he would do it again. Inspiring to see the response from the community on the Pantheon boards.
Brasse said:
The entire team is devastated by this tragic loss. However, it is a team, fully committed to the passion project of Pantheon, which could never have been completed by one person.
Brad's vision has imbued and driven the heart of this game, and inhabits every aspect of its essence.
His family has already given it's blessing for the Pantheon family to carry on, and so it shall.
The team is working on the upcoming video newsletter for November.
Saddened but not diminished.

Crazy... Matt McDonald also passed away just a couple of days ago... Committed suicide.
"We’re sad to write today that a game developer who’s crossed our community’s path before has passed away: Matt McDonald, who most recently served as Technical Art Director at Amazon Game Studios. McDonald’s career as an artist, modeler, and animator was prolific; among the MMOs he worked on were EverQuest, Vanguard, and Hero’s Song, though he owned an animation studio that contributed to dozens upon dozens more video games and other projects, and of course, his Linkedin says he was attached to the “un-announced, ‘Billion Dollar Franchise'” at Amazon."
