Like re-reading an old book, or watching a favorite flick, who else is appreciating the nuance of classic EQ more so the second time around?

I finally hit lvl 9 with my SK and the surge of power I got from getting spells is immense!

I'm really having a blast on my bard to be honest. I've mostly been tailoring patchwork and raw silk for the Qeynos noob population.

It's only gonna get better.

Difficult to tell because of the population I am having a blast but there's just too many people

I am, mostly cus of Discord with friends. All the inane conversations as we fuck with each other and make fun of bad players is super fun.

How about “rewatching” some classic porn that was your favorite 20 years ago? Be honest, it’s awesome.

I am having a good time, but what I am really hoping for is Alzheimer's to kick in.

Having a blast playing with the wife as we duo along. However, currently getting stuck with nothing to kill as everything is currently camped. Our plan is to just roll some alts for a bit until things start to spread out.

idk but I'm about to play this brand new game called Everquest that my son just brought home for me, its 2032 :D

I'm having a blast exactly -- how I remembered it in the early days of new servers. Minus the crappy internet connection. When the nameless server opened up on the first day there were so many people in greaterfaydark that I couldn't get up the elevators because the lag was so bad!

Thank you for the experience.

That thing is too old for this new game, I got a brand new Gateway PC for it!

*turns on regular PC with a gateway sticker on it put there by my loving son :o

Population in newbie areas is still so rough that leveling out of them is a challenge. I'll probably end up giving it some time to thin out, and hope to maintain motivation to play after that.

I dunno. I forgot!

Yes and no.

People are way to worried about xp penalties and grouping penalties etc etc. plus almost everyone knows how to game the system.

Back in 99 WW barely knew any of that stuff and was just glad to find a group with a spot open and had fun socializing while killing mobs.

I am playing a bard and haven’t had too much issue. One group outright ignored me when I asked if I could join. Other than that I have gotten groups in under 90 seconds.

This seems to be lost amongst some of the population. Personally, I stay away from the people that care about experience penalties or having a "perfect" group.

I have come to a conclusion about green. Human night blindness kinda sucks LOL Esp when at dark of night even with a fire beetle eye I cant hardly see the road in Qeynos Hills. Only got to lvl 4 on my Human ranger. Think I might remake him as a woodelf again so I wont be totally blind. Darkness is cool but I need to see the road heh

Was your choice to play a Bard you knew what you were getting into! I outright refused to invite ANY Hybrid to my groups when I was playing my Mage.

Also Green felt *INCREDIBLY* un-Classic in terms of finding groups.

Melees were sitting LFG for hours in zones with HUNDREDS of people only inviting casters.

No groups are inviting any kinda melees on Green right now. Melees sitting LFG for hours and hours. Feels incredibly unclassic!

Way more fun. Not playing a paladin.

I played the hell out of my Bard on last years New TLP server. Life got in the way so I ended up shutting it down. I’m ready for round 2 on green. Love my bard!

Fake news. I grouped with melees today (ranger, rogue, bard all in the same group even) and watched other groups nearby that had melees in them (SKs, warriors, monks off the top of my head).

Where the fuck do you people get this shit? If people are grouping with a ranger and a bard in the same group, or grouping with troll SKs, then you know there isn't much stigma against melee.

I didn't have Daniel in my heart on live, so this is infinitely better.

The daniels are actually really addictive. I love them.

I wish more of them would use this as their "We want you" poster though:

BTW I can never has as much fun here as I had in classic, because I played Rallos and Sullon Zek in a timeline where people didn't know what the hell to do. You can't ever bring that back! :D

Not me. Not even close.

This is not my.. 2nd time, though. I've been present for classic launches over 10 times, so my level of enthusiasm might reflect that.

I don't know if I am having more fun then when I first started Everquest, because that was brand new. I didn't know anything, was learning it for the first time, amazed at each new zone and how it looked, found quests, read Allakazam.

It's no longer new, but I am having more fun then when I started on Blue. I could never decide if I wanted to level a character and then buy stuff in EC, or be part of Auld Lang Syne, or keep trying for a No Time To Rez character. But now on a fresh server, everything I was doing in ALS everyone is doing, and that's sort of fun.
