I've seen / heard this trick allows for Necro pets to hit really hard - give them a 2-handed weapon and a lamp.

When does this become viable for Necromancer pets? Will it work with Animate Dead?

Upon receiving both the two-hander and the lamp, the pet carries both. I am unsure which comes first, I'll have to ask my necro friends. Thought this trick was more well-known.

id assume whenever the pet gets duel wield. wiki says lvl 19 so high level animate dead? take it with a grain of salt.

Necro pets don't dual wield until the 29 pet.

My necro friends were doing this in Droga - apparently their pets were able to hit really hard with it. Maybe it's the only way to get a necro pet to take a two-hander?

I'll have to ask them.
