Haven't played in a while, reinstalled to a fresh directory and updated with V50d. When I launch the program (admin, patchme, compatibility), it starts in fullscreen. I opened eqclient.ini and added

WindowedWidth=800
WindowedHeight=600
Width=800
Height=600
FullscreenBitsPerPixel=32
FullscreenRefreshRate=0
WidthWindowed=800
HeightWindowed=600


Relaunched, no dice, still in fullscreen. Oh well, went and plugged in my account and password. First time I misspelled by account and it spit me back out immediately. Second time it sat on the loading screen for about ten minutes before I killed it. Tried it a couple more times, same result.

PS. Before I edited eqclient.ini it only had

[Defaults]
Sound=TRUE
TextureQuality=1
VertexShaders=TRUE
20PixelShaders=TRUE
14PixelShaders=TRUE
1xPixelShaders=TRUE
MultiPassLighting=FALSE
UseLitBatches=TRUE

Just hit alt+enter to switch to windowed mode?

Well that fixed the fullscreen issue, now I'm simply getting a timeout.

Fresh install worked this time, dunno what the issue last night was.

Make sure u didn’t use the beta only patch files (f)
