except for wood elf beastlord, that was dumb. a treant isn’t even a beast. i also thought playing as a froglok was cool too.

I never got high level with em but I liked the concept. Little gators and bears and scaled wolves was cool.

Unlike beserker.... those were fucking pointless af.

Snare / stun with a resist check vs AC instead of magic actually incredibly handy!

I love not evening having to think about luclin + garbage can video game deterioration stuff on this server.

AA's were cool to help casters stop being so limp vs melee when maximum geared on PVP.

I liked the class. A melee pet class was needed and so was an animal themed pet class. The SK wasnt quite right for that, even if its pets could have used a bump.

Beastlords were the home run in Luclin.

Yeah I did enjoy my beastlord, probably the funnest class I leveled back in the day.

I recently created a Beastlord on another server because I was curious to see how the class plays. I chose Vah Shir for the race because.... kitty :D

I like the class so far. I know people here like to shit on Luclin (and I totally understand the disdain for certain features like Nexus, Bazaar, etc) but just strictly looking at Beastlord as a class I don't see anything wrong with it. It's a fun hybrid of Shaman and Monk and feels pretty classic in that way.

I think I still have my lvl 95 Bst account info somewhere. Was a fun class to level. Really wish I rolled Iksar, but moon cat with purple flame knuckleduster House of Thule raid gear looked pretty cool I guess.

I really can’t remember my thoughts on them @ time of release, but I think they’d be a pretty OP class on p99. Their epic 1.0 already sneezed on many of the others, as it had to keep pace with Luclin mobs (exB: Greenmist). You basically just give a monk the ranger epic, with slightly debugged shaman spells to boot. The synthesis of monk and shaman would probably just extinguish the flame of esprit de corps that keeps the server going.

Just my two cp.

I played a beastlord on agnarr for awhile and I really liked the class. AAs are cool to idk why people always crap on luclin. The new models are terrible but you don't have to play with them on and honestly who likes siting in the tunnel for hours trying to sell your stuff lmao. Bazaar is actually a cool quality of life improvement imo.

At least with the bazaar it created an inventory you could shop and browse. I have a limited playtime. Do I wanna play the game? Or do I wanna spend hours in the tunnel trying to find an item that isn't available?

With the exception of the space aliens, I loved everything about Luclin.

And before the closed minded bullies here start firing off about it not being classic, IT WAS! Brad himself did 75% of the expansion before he sold out. Yes, 75% was Brad. Look up the history. It was totally his vision.

But that's literally all they can do.

But it's a REALLY BIG ALL.

Just my two cp.Probably the Beastlords that were introduced in Luclin wouldn't work, but the niche they fill now, after much smoothing out, would be fine, just fine.

I liked beastlords. I just think they should of made the Kerra Isle kerrans the "cat people" and Kerra Isle their town, not some moon city with space cats.

We need more moon cats on p99, tbh.

I figured out what bugged me about vah shir with cat pets!

I don't want them in my Classic, but I think that Beastlords were fine. They felt like they mixed semi-organically into the class mixture. Also the Iksar one with a scaled wolf pet was fuckin' boss.

The problem was the mooncats. They really should have made Stonebrunt their starter zone, or spun another island/area off of it.

I remember trying the Val’Shir beastlord and I literally couldn’t play the game with all the lag in their home town. Probably would have been fun but I stuck to my two main characters.

nah, AA's sucked. there were so many that were just "you need to take these or you can't keep up with power creep". it wasn't ever really a choice.

Berserkers are currently the premiere DPS class in the game on Live.

i guess they had to give them some reason to exist.

I mained a Vah Beastlord during luclin for a long while. Loved playing that class. I remember soloing blues well into 50s with mediocre gear.

Day Luclin opened I moved from rallos to sullon and rolled up a barbarian beastlord, was definitely not a overpowered class and it was actually very underpowered in pvp but it was very fun PvE leveling it up and it had a place at the raid table (as a paragon and savagery bot..)

And it was the Troll beastlords with the gator pets that were boss.

Troll Beastlord was my favorite combo, even though it was janky as heck. At level 58 the pet gator was still the size of a newbie mob, so I semi-affectionately named him “Tiny”. Also the epic claw models were clearly only modeled for Vah Shir and Iksar. They clipped through the troll model something awful with both old and new character models.

For all the buggy slapped-together look, I still loved my fat green beastlord.

Something else.. the titles. Having those ridiculous titles above peoples heads. There are no heroes in EQ :o

You're limited to one title and one suffix at a time nowadays.

For obvious reasons.

Also you can display as much or as little of PC and NPC names as you want.

Also for obvious reasons.

Luclin was pretty legit. Being 60 was pretty fucking boring if you were not diehard raiding. AAs gave it purpose and a sense of progression.

I remember beastlords being especially dangerous on Vallon due to one particular fact that their pets were the only ones to survive zoning. When first introduced their pets were a skill not a spell, but the bst pet spells increased its level and powered it up. Really gave you the feeling of a companion because it was the only pet to go through zones with you at the time.

They also acted as a complete heal on the pet for a short time. That was crazy OP.
