What race/class would you pick?
I think the fact that p99 has been around so long, many of us don’t really associate ourselves with any single character. I know I’m among the many who have multiple 60’s, but the thought of green being near, and knowing that most of us will most likely just have enough time to keep one character maxed and geared, it made me wonder what I’d play if I could only have one character.
I used to play on FV and one of my favorite aspects was the one character rule. I’d love to have a p99 server that had some way of restricting each player down to one character. I think the end game would be so much more interesting. Anyway, If you could only play a single character for the entirety of your time on EverQuest, which character would keep you most entertained?

As much as I’m all for trying diff combos, Iksar monk is simply the greatest classic combo. Once they get triple attack, it’s gonna be even more ridiculous. No other class is that broke in all aspects of the game.

Aah yes, a fellow FV'er. Most servers had alts. We had rerolls.
Had an ERU/SHD on FV and an IKS/SHD here. I love the knight class - so much utility.
To answer your question - one of the silk classes. Toss-up between ERU and GNM tho.

What can a monk do that an enchanter cannot?

Half Elf Ranger since 1999.
Definitely Rogue. I'm not sure if I'd do Wood Elf again or mix it up with Half-Elf...
I'd actually love it if P99 forced us to play one character. I agree it would make the end game a hell of a lot more interesting. I could see guilds offering bonuses and loot privileges for people willing to delete their current character in favor of classes their roster is lacking.

One and only one? Depends on context.
Current context: My dwarf warrior.
If raiding was something I didn’t ever do, my half elf paladin.
Honorable mention in both scenarios: my wood elf bard.

Enchanter for me. Extremely effective in pretty much every experience zone in the game either in a group or solo. Can move around almost every dungeon and soloing named mobs deep in dungeons is a lot of fun.
Extremely cheap to gear too. Rod of glamour and 255 charisma and you can solo pretty much anything a well geared enchanter can.

Nostalgically --> Magician. Love being able to summon a powerful pet (4 different kinds!) and do the top damage in the game.
Realistically --> Enchanter. They are just OP and offer so many avenues of play.

necro. but i am finding monk to be quite enjoyable as well.
the thing about necro is that they are always powerful. from level 1 to 60, gear or no gear, they have so much efficient killing power.
and to top it off, when a necro finds himself treading in waters too deep, he can always FD

Probably the character I have the most fun with in every aspect is my Paladin. I might end up going with Warrior though, because gearing a Warrior our is just lots of fun.
Cleric for many reasons but mostly because I enjoy being able to just wander around the world and wherever you go people are happy to see you.

Oooh, great question! For me, I'm kind of the opposite of what you describe, though. I only started playing a year ago, and although I have two baby alts, my Druid is 100% my main. #teamdruid :D
