Monk: Fungi or Epic?

The title is pretty self explanatory for my situation. Currently, I have a 42 monk who has managed to camp almost all of the components for the Robe of the Lost Circle which basically just leaves the pipes and demon fangs needed for the completion of my epic, if I understand it correctly.

My question is this: Once I hit 50, would it be wise to liquidate my fungi and then buy an MQ for these? I'm not sure how expensive the MQs would be these days but I can't imagine they would be above the cost of a Fungi in the current market. With left over cash, I could maybe even afford to buy a better haste item (I currently have SCHW) or resist gear.

They're both end game items. Only sell the fungi if you're able to get top dollar for it.

PS: how did you get a fungi at such a low level? RMT?

Monk epic is a joke. Do not sacrifice a fungi to get it, unless you have FU money in which case you can buy the MQ and keep the fungi. Join a casual guild to help you with the final few pieces or PUG it if you're good at recruiting people.

Meh I wouldn't call it a joke, it just doesn't rely on rare drops from raid mobs on timers causing an arbitrary chokepoint on completion.

Getting a group into Chardok for several hours is probably the hardest part. Not sure how the revamp changes that though.

Zone being busier means it's more viable to get a pug. Also, I'd imagine the MQ price is dropping since there will be more pipes dropping if OP wanted to go the $$ route.

definitely don't sell your fungi, find a great guild you enjoy that can eventually help you get the pipes and demon fangs

I did pretty much the entire epic in one day. It’s so easy, there’s no way I’d sell a fungi or even spend 50k on an MQ.

I was in this same situation a few years ago and sold the Fungi for an Epic. For someone that solo’d a lot it was a big mistake. Definitelt was more efficient with Fungi versus epic.

For global functionality, if I had to give up one, I’d keep the epic and lose the fungi. For solo without outside buffs? That’s harder. With one you give up 150hp a minute (a bit less than 2 bind wounds). With the other you give up 40% haste that stacks with item, 16ish ac and a pretty nice buff for your attack. Over time I’m not confident that one would make you more efficient than the other. 46+ the time added to each fight in having only worn haste undoubtedly will result in more damage taken per fight than uptime fungi would regen but the fungi works for you 100% of the time (between fights recovering, flopped fd, and traveling point A to B).

Keep the fungi, and use it to farm pp to save for your epic if it has to come to that. Mq isn’t that much money, and it’s not hard to make 500-1kpp/hour if you know where to go.

Keep the fungi, camp the KC pipes at 50. Get the chardok pipes MQ'd for like 2k.

Use an AC/SoS with the robe and you'll be at 90% of the way towards an epic.

Join any guild or even just make friends and the demon fangs will be super easy
