Hi guys. At what level would it become advantageous to switch from two low delay 1hb weapons to a higher delay 2hb weapon? I have a fighting baton and knuckle dusters now. I would like to begin using a runed fighter staff and later a tranquil staff, but I think the damage cap at level six makes the two quicker weapons better for now. Am I correct? If so, when does the damage cap raise such that I'm better off with the 2hb options?

Damage cap goes away at lvl 20 so until then it's not much use using 2 handers.

It completely stops at 20? So a tranquil staff at 20 could do the same max per hit as at 50?

2hb skill comes into play to dictate your max. Level dictates your skill.

While your "damage cap" is gone at 20 you will hit hard as shit but not the same as a level 50.

I believe.

I thought the damage cap got raised at 20 and disappeared at 30?

But even so, you wont hit as hard at 30 as you will at 50 due to not having as much 2hb skill.

If you can get a bo staff (8/20 2hb) that would work great for keeping your skill up while not sacrificing too much damage potential until the caps get raised/removed.

Chances are good that at 20 using a 19/20 weapon the damage cap won't affect you enough to notice it.

Yeah, this. At level 20 with a tstaff you'll hit exactly like a level 20 with a 29 damage weapon. No artificial cap

Pretty sure the proc is broken, and if you already knew that then maybe that's where your sarcasm was headed.

The staff is supposed to proc a rain spell, 3 waves, on 4 mobs (and yourself) doing something like 73 or 78 dmg/tick, can't quite remember. However, when i've used it it procs 3 waves on myself, but only 1 wave on the mobs i'm aoe'ing. Quite ineffective atm.

That thing pretty much always was considered a suicide stick. On live you could theoretically back up to a point where the mob will take the damage and you will avoid it (tho avoiding the very 1st wave is extremely difficult).

Still, pretty cheap and a good weapon for a 20-30 monk (when it starts proc'ing).
