This item looks amazing. How hard is it to get? I haven't spent much time in SG at all. Is this something a high level chanter can get solo or is a group needed?

Also how to people counteract the negative str. My chanter only has 60 str as is!

Yes you can solo it, mostly by taking advantage of jumping out of the water clearing mermaid and fish aggro. It isn't too easy to get to when you're kos in the zone though, depending on see invis stuff locations.

You counter low strength by having wr bags (and often using bedlam, too).

many moons ago, on live servers I went to get the illusion mask for my bard with my shaman friend fully expecting to be there for hours trying to find it.

Zoned in, killed the first mob at the entrance....

...it dropped the mask XD ..or shoulder piece whatever it was that turned you into a water elemental :)

hmm at least I think it was a water elemental... took too many hits to the lambent helmet I think

It took me a good 4-5 hours as a enchanter/cleric duo but I believe I was just having bad luck

I'm interested in trying this and I swam all over the zone as I’m still not kos there. I saw tons of neriad mobs there, and I understand the water aspects of clearing agro. Problem is I didn’t see too many locations where you could jump out of the water and not be near a mob. Those that didn’t have mobs near on the ledge usually didn’t have neriads in the water. Once you are kos, are you clearing the ledge then killing neriads or am I just missing something?

So practice makes perfect and you will probably die a few times. In all fairness I had help from guildies when I got mine.

But the red spot in the middle right on the edge of the water I believe is a safe spot that you can pop out and not gain agro from the temple or side sirens.

The Neriads underwater you wanna pull with tash, drop agro by jumping on the safe ledge, back in the water tash the 2nd Neriad , drop agro by jumping on the safe spot. swim back down slow one of the Neriads, Jump out to drop agro, drop back into water and cast BA on the non-slowed Neriad. Once charmed the Slowed Neriad will jump on your pet. Toss a haste on your pet. Pray your charm doesn't break. Camp your agro so your pet heals quickly. At this point you can re-charm and torch, jump out of water to drop agro (make sure shes fully healed). When your rdy for the next one repeat tash, jump out, slow, jump out, charm.. pet attack, camp agro.

That is a massive wall of sleep deprived text but that's pretty much how it goes. It will prob take a few trys to make work correctly.

If you become K.O.S. you can use the same tactic with the sea horse's
-Tash a horse
-Jump out
-Lull from ledge
-Repeat until you can get to safe spot at temple

Extremely helpful! Thanks so much! I saw that exact spot and was worried it wasn’t safe. It must not be too big of a safe spot. We will find out!

Note that you can calm water mobs from land, so even a crit lull fail doesn't aggro. But they do resist a boatload so it takes ages.

When I did it most/all of the edge was safe, not just the middle spot.

That’s a great idea! Can save some of the jumping in and out of the water that way.

I tried it this morning. I could not get a slow to stick to save my life! I’m 56 and impatient =P. Probably need a couple more levels to be able to do it. Charming the lvl 50 mobs was no problem but yeah even hasted it got completely smoked by the lvl 57 unslowed other mob. Got it to about 50%.

Get lucky. I have some suspicions for why but they aren’t anything you could operationalize.

Hit 58 today and went back and got my shawl. Got lucky and got it before I became KOS too. I'll probably end up wrecking my faction at some point but I'll save it for now.

At 24:32 he's standing on land and gets summoned on charm break. Could it be because the mobs were directly underneath him, the same way we can pull corpses if they are close enough on the x-axis, no matter the y-axis distance?

It doesn't look like he was summoned. There is no "You will not evade me" text there. Also the fight was maiden vs maiden and it was a mistress that killed him. This is just pretty strange. I don't know what happened here.

Yeah and looking at it again, I think the charm break was just result of him dying. Looks like a mistress was assisting the maiden and somehow hit him from afar.

Even he is confused about it. Look at where he died. He died on the ledge. Not in the water. Same with a few other corpses there. I think that spot might just be a little glitchy. If he(they)were summoned and killed, wouldnt their corpses be in the water?

I was just there to check out the camp myself. I charmed a maiden, send it to attack a mistress. I jump to land, and i go pretty far up on the ledge, to the opposite side where my pet is fighting. I drop charm and I get insta-summoned. I was NOT right on top of them, and I was definitely ON land. So yes, to claim that you are 100% safe on land while pet is fighting in water might be "officially" correct, but in practice it is not. Nevertheless, it seems like a pretty good camp. On my first mistress kill (shitting bricks during the fight, btw), I looted Netted Kelp Pantaloons and a diamond. On my second attempt, I used my WC cap, because of the little "bug" mentioned above :)

I'm thinking of doing this; great write up! Question though... you said above to camp the agro. Can't you just break charm while on land after your pet wins the fight and let it heal that way? Not sure why camping is necessary.

To save your faction, /q out of the game when the mob is at ~3% so your pet wins the fight but you don't take a faction hit.

Also, I am no expert on the camp, but I have camped 4 shawls in my time and I never got summoned when on land. For the people who are getting summoned, are you KoS? It seems like that shouldn't matter, but who knows.

I mentioned earlier that I didn’t get summoned from land but it did end up happening to me much. I think agro just doesn’t immediately reset so if you get unlucky on timing you might get summoned pretty much simultaneously on the break. I think if the enemy mob is slowed then the odds of it happening should be very small. But there’s a chance I still don’t really know why it’s happening hah.
