According to the wiki that helm (http://wiki.project1999.com/Custom_Champion%27s_Crown) just has a "Leather" fashion style.

Unfortunately the Category:Fashion: Leather (http://wiki.project1999.com/Category:Fashion:_Leather) doesn't have any screenshots (Iksar or otherwise), but if you use the Special:MultiCategorySearch (http://wiki.project1999.com/Special:MultiCategorySearch) page to search for items in that category and the "Head" category, you get: http://wiki.project1999.com/index.php?title=Special:MultiCategorySearch&limit=500&offset=0&wpInCategory1=Fashion%3A+Leather&wpInCategory2=Head.

Every one of the 96 items in those results will look identical, unless they have a "tint" fashion category also. So if you can't find an Iksar wearing a Custom Champion's Crown, maybe you can find someone wearing one of the other 95 items that look the same instead.

Or, you could even try on one of those items yourself and be your own model: a Lumberjack's Cap or Burynai Hide Cap (or one of the other cheap caps listed there) should be easy to acquire. If you do that, perhaps consider adding a screenshot to the wiki for anyone looking for what you're looking for in the future :)

Check out the iksar in plate. Looks like a piece of rotten flesh wrapped around the face

The lower left one I'm assuming?

You mean an iksar went on a panty raid and didn't know what it was used for on scaleless ones so just put it on his face as a mask.

I'm not sure if I am just not understanding what you are saying...

But a Custom Crown of the Kromzek Kings does not have the same graphic as a Raw-hide Skullcap that you seem to be suggesting based on that link.

According to Lucy (which is where the wiki got its fashion info), it does:

Appearance: Leather

Appearance: Leather

(Both have a black tint also.)

So either: A) you're wrong, B) Lucy's wrong, C) Lucy's correct about live EQ, but the appearance of one of those two items changed between the classic and live eras, or D) there's a bug in P99.

I honestly don't know which is true, nor do I have any stake in any particular option: I just know what's in Lucy.

The leather fashion is definitely wrong. It has all the custom plate helms from velious listed there, among which: bard, cleric, pally, sk, and warrior ones can reliably be counted as plate...

I'm guessing it's C) then (the live custom helms look like leather, but the classic ones don't).

99.9% of the items in Lucy have the same fashion appearance as they do here, but of course SOE always has to change something to make matters difficult ...

If anyone happens to know an item that looks like the custom helms but doesn't have a "Leather" fashion (so I can get the "proper Lucy name" for the fashion appearance those helms actually have) I'll happily correct the wiki.

There is no velious leather helm graphic though. There is only velious plate helm graphic.

Loramin, the custom helm looks are definitely not leather. You can fix the wiki.

Just want to be clear before I do ...

All "Custom *" helms have the exact same fashion/look? And no other item has that same fashion/look? And the best name for that fashion category would be "Fashion:Custom Velious Helm" ... or can anyone suggest a better one?

The graphic is just velious helm. Not even custom. Gnome tink armor is also velious plate, including helm.

So, the thing of that is ...

http://wiki.project1999.com/Clockwork_Watchman_Helm

also has a "Fashion: Leather" :( But just the helm, not the rest of the armor.

I see two possibilities:

1) The wiki info is correct: http://wiki.project1999.com/Clockwork_Watchman_Helm and http://wiki.project1999.com/Custom_Blood_Lord%27s_Crown both do have the same look, and that look is shared with everything else in http://wiki.project1999.com/Category:Fashion:_Leather ... but that name "Leather" really doesn't describe it well.

2) There are two categories: "actual leather" (eg. what http://wiki.project1999.com/Ancient_Leather_Cap presumably looks like) and a different "high end velious plate" look that somehow got merged into leather in Lucy's database

I'm guessing it's the latter, but then it'd be nice if we could figure out how much of http://wiki.project1999.com/Category:Fashion:_Leather really belongs in this other category. Like is it only a problem with custom helms and the clockwork watchmen helm? Is it only a helm thing?

Once I've narrowed down the problem I can fix it (or if it's big enough, write a script to fix it), but I don't want to fix some stuff by hand only to figure out later there's a bunch more.

However, I don't know what things should look like, so any assistance as to what the wiki has wrong would be appreciated.

There is only one Velious helm graphic (the custom helms). Since there's only the one, a distinction between armor type becomes irrelevant--the item either has the graphic, or it doesn't. The large majority of Velious head slot items either have no graphic or use an old-world graphic.

I notice on database websites many (all those I checked, anyway) of the Velious graphic helms are classed as leather, so perhaps that's how the original game database treated them? The distinction would've been invisible to players, after all, so it could've hypothetically been a convenience setting for the database guys.

Shoot, I don't mean to necro an old thread, but I somehow forgot to mention that I created a new category (http://wiki.project1999.com/Category:Fashion:_Custom_Helm) to fix this (and then I just found a tab with this thread open now, so better late than never ...)

I also added all (or at least I think/hope it's all) of the helms with that graphic to it. If anyone sees any missing please let me know ... or better yet, just edit the item in question and replace the fashion category at the bottom with:
[[Category:Fashion: Custom Helm]]
