Will he despawn if engaged?

If this is the dude in DL valley, I've fought and killed him many times (trying to get more-powerful skellies to spawn). Strange faction hit but definitely doesn't despawn when engaged

He despawns after the turn in

No he does not despawn after turn in, just did two back to back turn ins just the other day. Confirmed currently does not despawn.

Oh oops! Silly me. I thought I remembered him despawning on me. Looks like the wiki says he despawns after the turn in

Yes! He wiki definitely says he despawns. But the wiki is definitely wrong. I argued that he did despawn just last week to a guy for 20 minutes until he proved me wrong by handing in and getting robe. And low and behold brother balatin was still standing there, charmed, and ready for the next Monk who handed in and got another robe. The second robe he handed out didn't despawn him either. Surprised the heck outta me but it's true: he doesn't despawn.

Well maybe if he’s charmed he doesn’t despawn? I did a sneak turn in from behind and I remember him despawning after. But I might remember wrong

And that may be very true he stayed charmed the whole time. Possible reason for not despawning

he despawns after a certain time if no one is on his aggro list

he wont depop if hes remained charmed tho but soon as charm wears off and its over his time limit he poofs

We did some turn-ins the other day with a necro charming him. He remained up for two turn-ins while charmed but despawned immediately when the necro feigned death.

Just to confirm even if you keep this mob engaged he will despawn after about 10-15 minutes.

Pretty sure I kited him around for 30 mins+ while waiting for everybody to gather for turn in (had to get a guildie to log in my enc to MQ the pipe on enc) - had no problems.
