I thought hey it’s a low population server what could go wrong. Double xp that’s cool. I’ll make a cleric, who would ever want to kill a cleric? PvP isn’t that bad. I’m sure there is some order there. I mean how bad could it be... Things I told myself.

I’ve been on this server for about 3 months now. It was definitely and enjoyable experience when I started. Many fun groups made some friends. Joined “the guild” ie. Sanctuary. I leveled my way to about 50, that was the plateau. All down hill from that point on. Groups scarce, people randomly trying to off you for no apparent reason except to get your plat and see their name up in pixels, oh and get the obligatory “PRAS” in /ooc. The best part (which makes me laugh) is you don’t gain xp or loss xp in a PvP encounter. So what’s the point? Pure unadulterated grief, yup that’s it, grief. Oh, I’ve listened to people try to explain why the server is the way it is. The answer is always “it’s Apex’s fault”, this is an absolutely laughable statement. This isn’t Apex’s fault, this is a lack of self control and the aptitude to be able to take garage and at the very least make a sandwich out of it even if you had to cringe.

I’ve always tried to be light in a dark world. I would have thought maybe just maybe there was a glimmer of hope that I would be able to be the light in the darkness. Ha! Boy was I wrong. I’ve even rezzed people that have turned around and killed me. Ask kindly for a port to get ported to an awaiting party to gank you at some random place you didn’t ask for a port to. This sever has zero organization and zero purpose. I assumed that maybe these people had some brains and could assemble something great from a pile of garbage code wise, nope, fail, epic style.

So, will I stay, is it toxic? Yes, to both questions. The solution seems to be, get to 60 and only use that toon to raid. Expect terror destruction and mayhem from about 45ish to 60.
The only ones that could fix this sever are the creators of it to code some semblance of order. Devs you made garbage deal with it. If they won’t deal with it population of the sever rise up and do it yourselves. I have many great ideas for this server but we would need to work together to make it happen. Let’s create structure and a lasting legacy not be apart of the demise.

Makes me want to play on Red tbh.

Not a whole lot of toxic environments left on the Internet anymore...

One last offense before the thought police surround us, lads?

...not quite sure what you got from the post but your response seems schizophrenic. If you think I’m trying to make things ”kum ba ya” your dead wrong. I want healthy PvP with a purpose not disorder.

in my experience there are only a few real griefers on the server. But since the population is that low, that's already a decent percentage of the population.

PvP on itself is a nice concept. Resolve camping disputes: easy. Can't stand other guild? Make a guild war. The PvP on this server is nothing like that unfortunately. Here are the 3 types of PvPers that i encountered:

1) The philosopher (just one person, has toons at different levels). He want's to raise "awareness", so he kills you out of the blue with a maxed out raid geared level 25 toon. That one actually isn't so bad, pretty funny even. He honestly thinks people need to be more aware of the hostile environment. He only kills you once and usually doesn't loot you.
2) The "other players are just mobs with more money" type. Those are mainly in for the money. They kill ruthlessly and efficiently, take your money and go. Of course they try to time their kill such that you can't really respond, maybe while fighting some mobs.
3) The "god complex" type. Those just kill to feel superior (which they usually are, raid geared to the max). I do understand that type. What i don't get is the persistence. It must get boring after a few times... but apparently, for some people it's great entertainment.

And that's all i ever witnessed on this red server. No noble fights for camps, no guild wars, just petty crimes.

I agree with this, although I’ve never encountered the first kind. They must be pretty rare.

This is a very strange application to Apex bro.
I wasn't aware you needed to openly kiss arse still to get in, thought prereq. was 1. A pulse, 2. A VPN setup for the obligatory raid box.

Hmm maybe things have changed. I dunno.

P.s. everything you have described is what red99 is about, you're playing on the wrong server and trying to force your bluebie ideals on to the remaining 2 PvPers. You're the problem in this situation. You went to red99 to enjoy a easy blubie experience and are chuckling a tantrum when the red99 component finds you.

Play better, or login to the correct server, Blue 1999: Velious at server select.

Every time I see this thread's title, I think of Britney Spears. "Toxic," was and still is a great song.

There are more people who hope you quit here than stick around. Just remember that OP and toxic was a pretty solid bri Spears song.

Anybody reading this caca in 2019? How are you all still so bad at such a simple game?

Make friends so you don’t get ported by random shitters.

Get 56+ and form up a squad of your own.

App whatever guild fits your style.

You can largely do anything on red that you can on blue you just need to invest less time into it or more time into more characters but if you’re looking for a truly blue experience it’s located directly above red99 on server select.

Over and over in every MMO that has FFA PvP, the wolves think they don't need any sheep around to complete the ecosystem, and then when they find themselves trapped on an island with a handful of other wolves, complain about the outcome of the server (and ask the developers to fix/wipe/whatever it).

There's nothing wrong with port ganking innocent newcomers, but if there isn't also a contingent of people who would give the honest port, the server's days are numbered--or over already.

Everyone here knows this.

Oh sheesh lol, I can only say one thing after reading all that you wrote.

I'm sorry but I don't think a pvp server is for you lol.
Pvp servers are hardcore like this, I can only imagine if you played here when it was populated haha you'd prob have a heart attack.

You do know there's a section called "PVP Rants and Flames" right?

I don't understand your line of thinking. Why would you intrisically trust every person you ever saw? Ever heard of "scammers"? Earn your trust and screw you over?

The difference is, there are no "police" or "laws" on this server except for the normal server rules (which are often followed).

Trust every person you ever see on a pvp server -> guaranteed you're going to get griefed

Don't trust every person you ever see on a pvp server; assume that their entire intent in life is to kill you, take your money, grief you, or otherwise just troll you -> Never going to be griefed because you're always prepared. Never going to be surprised.

Every death you've had is a lesson that you've failed to learn. DON'T TRUST ANYONE.

Do those in illegal circuits do anything without bodyguards/some form of protection?

Do the same and you'll never be disappointed. No one wants to come protect you? Guess no one is getting a res/teleport/anything. If you're doing it without someone to have your back, don't be surprised when you get mugged.

nice , found him

also in order for any server to be successful it needs like 60% casual normal people

red99 was 90% stay at home sons 100% toxic any casuals were griefed away
