Velious Era Rogue Twink

Hey guys, here’s kinda what I’m thinking I wanted to see if anyone had any advice to things that they would change! This setup leaves me with about 30k for a rage bringer at 46. My only main “wish” was that I could swap in a fungi but I don’t think I have the funds currently to swing that without stripping an alt.

Face: Sarnak-hide mask
Neck: spider-fur collar
Belt: RBB
Cloak: Velium Mastadon Fur
Shoulders: Haze Panther
Ears: Orc fang x 2
Rings: Velium Fire x 2
Chest: Haze Panther
Legs: Haze Panther
Arms: Haze Panther
Helm: Haze Panther
Wrist: Crystal Chitin
Wrist2: Haze Panther (fashion quest)
Range: Idol of the Thorned
Primary: Exquisite Spear
Secondary: Heavy Spear


I guess my main questions are on the weapons? I figure the plus side of 20k+ on the V exquisite is that it’s pretty much BiS secondary until raiding. My “option” would be to go with two cheaper weapons (Seb Croak & ... I dunno like a carved Velium Spear?) which would let me get a cloak of flames or a fungi in lieu of having plat “banked” for a rage at 46.

i'd go for cheaper weapons and go with a fungi. will make the lower levels a super fun experience and less dependent on a group.

18 regen a tick for 5-10% damage decrease seems worth it to me.

fungis are super liquid if you need to sell for ragebringer mq that is always an option.

quest is pretty easy though in the right guild.

The Horn of Hsagra is the premium twink primary slot weapon.

I'd say fungi tunic and better haste first. Like other people say, once you're out of the solo levels, you can cash in your fungi for your exquisite vellum spear and epic.

1x fungi is better than your entire armor set and weaps for soloing.

Fungi + rusty weaps can let your rogue solo well beyond what you have.

They're so stupidly OP on low level characters.

Keep in mind, the moment you hit 46, you can sell fungi (pretty easily) and buy an epic.

Damn, I kinda knew I was right with regards to fungi but I was hoping that I was wrong. Seems like the ultimate twink to level 40 or so would just be fungi + turtle belt + cof and then whatever .5 ratio auto attack weapon you can afford after that lol. Granted that’s about 75k over budget but still.

Thanks for the feedback. I guess it really comes down to if I want to solo or not...

i've been planning to twink a rogue for a while

i would argue not to get high price haste item since you wont need it after 46 epic. price of rbb/seahorse/cof have all dropped over time. i would just get a SCHW and get over with it.

ideal twink, in order of importance, should be fungi then weapon (horn or exquisite spear depending on budget) then haste then everything else

first 5 items of my lvl 1 rogue would be fungi, horn, belt turtle, lodi back, and schw - of course belt and lodi are just icing on the cake and totally not necessary, but i know i will continue to use them at 60, and plus all 5 items are easily liquidated and holds value quite well

that's not always true. not everyone comes in with 500k in bank and ready to spend 200 or 300k. i think a lot of players, like me, accumulate wealth gradually and that extra 30 or 40k for a good haste item means you need to continue farming plat, rather than get started and enjoy playing a twink right away

the point is, why continue the boring farming plat for a haste item that you will be throwing away after getting epic, and that haste item most likely will decline in value. cof, cocw, rbb, rbg, seahorse belt are all following this trend

You know what’s cool about rogues? They perform just about as well twinked or rocking goodwill gear.

You could also use a Velium swiftblade (about 2k) for a cheap, offhand haste until epic.
