Twinky Warrior Gear?

Hey guys! I'm super new to melee, but always wanted to play one. I'm probably going to make an iksar warrior because that's my favorite race. What gear should I be looking for? Specifically, what weapons? I'd imagine I need a 2h to start with until DW. I already have fungi/velium rings. What necklace and armor pieces should I be looking at? I have about 60k to spend.

Also, proc'ing weapons for tanking? I picked up a couple of obsidian shards (they dont cost anything). But someone was telling me that some velious weapons proc @ level one. I'd like a couple of 1h's for tanking I can keep around at least until my early 50's.

Dont worry about procs till 40 then get a frostbringer and your set till 60

Would invest in a fistful of invis rings and root nets

2handers are surprisingly good for aggro at lower levels with decent haste
Staff of battle if you're on a budget or you can go for a nice ratio velium weapon if you dont wanna look like a monk

I’d probably go doljon until mid 40s. With proc it’s a viable weapon starting at 1. And procs are hella fun. Load up on dex and get a nice haste. You’ll pretty much wreck everything. Then switch to FB/Wess in mid 40s and stack hp.

Obsidian shards are a level 20 vanilla aggro weapon.
Would you use a level 20 vanilla dps weapon? No, because Kunark completely outstrips anything vanilla had for weapons.

Wrapped Entropy Serpent's Spine and Venomous Axe of the Velium brood are a couple of tradable proc options that start from level 1.

Procs are too clumpy to be relied on during fast low level kills.

Check out the WAR in my sig if you'd like ideas of WAR weapons, shave off 7k and replace the eyepatch with something like Crystal Spider Eyes for 1k instead, although the +9 STA will be more HP later on.
As for proc'ing weapons: Infestation procs at level 1, is good til epics or raid 1hers, and Venomous Axe of Velium Brood in OH.

Armor suggestions
- RBB / RBG / Seahorse Belt
- Blood Runed Greaves/Gauntlets
- Glimmering Mithril Torque
- Talisen, Bow of the Trailblazer

You're going to have a total of 100 dex at low levels while rocking a fungi. Don't worry about proc weapons. They're unreliable and mobs die too fast until 50+. Get a staff of battle or just go with your highest ratio weapons.

OP indicated Iksar, but yea gnome war build is ridiculous. The haste and dex clickies make this the best solo build by far. And 40% haste isn’t always available in group settings as well.

Yeah its awsome for solo atleast until mobs do the jump from ca 2000 hp to 6000 hp, then its hard solo even with that haste. Truncheon for slow helps but sometimes it takes so damn long before It procs

If you want to solo a war at anything above 40, you really only target XP greens anyways. You aren't gonna be soloing dungeon mobs or dark blues even twinked.

Definitely don't make a warrior with the intention to solo past your 40s. While technically possible, you are really just setting yourself up for disappointment.

Thank you guys~! I found a good set of gear I like. Currently at lvl 17 wielding the Serpent Spine/Venom axe. Would you guys recommend I switch to 2H @ lvl 20? I Think the damage bonus jumps way up.

300pp for a Staff of Battle at 31/37 is tough to beat as far as ratio and value.

For 300pp Staff of Battle will easily last you to level 50

Switch to it in 20s to cap it, you can use it to deal tons of damage starting at L30.

Get a fungi and 2 good weapons and a set of banded armor. Maybe some hp rings if you have plat left over. That will propel you to 40 faster than anything else you could buy and the fungi will retain its value can always sell at anytime for your high lvl upgrades

I’d start using the frostbringer at 40 along with a WESS or better ratio weapon depending if you’re soloing or not.

Staff of battle ratio is nice for the money but even on my warriors reaver in the 40s I was barely noticing a difference between that and FB/frenzied axe

they're like 28-30k

bought one for my monk a couple / few weeks ago...guy was nice enough to come down to my broke butt's ask of 26k (drained the bank)

For leveling and fast kills don't underestimate dual lamentations. The HP adds a nice buffer with the fungi and the fast hits will hold aggro well enough and do decent in solo situations which a fungi warrior can certainly solo well.

I bought the 3 pieces for strength/dex/haste. There’s others like speed but didn’t bother with them.

It’s a damn shame gnome sks don’t exist here. I’d roll one in a heartbeat with that armor.
