question about how XP works

This is in regard to soloing. I have heard that you need to do more than 50% of the damage to get full XP if you are say using a pet. If the pet does more then 50% then you split the XP with the pet. This got me wondering.

Someone was fighting a mob and got it down to 25% health when they realized they were gonna lose and they zoned. I was right there at the zoneline and got aggro. It was an easy kill for me since it was so low on health anyway.

My question is did I get full XP for killing the mob while I was only one on its hate list. Or did I get half XP since I only did 25% of the mobs health since that is all that it had when the fight began?

Full XP. The pet rule is specifically for pets, not players, and even then only for soloing players (it's removed in groups). The only rule for players is that the player/group which did the most damage gets the XP.
