...the real prize is these load times! Thank you.

I keep hearing this, and yet I crash every other time I try to zone. I think whatever optimization was made hoses Linux (or at least the P99-middlemand script that let EQ work on Linux).
Please, staff, some of you are sys admins and hopefully Linux-using folks: don't leave us Linux users out!

are you guys talking about the loading into chardok zone, or into any zones? Because I just get an unresponsive EQ client when I try to log on my monk first time after patch, into great divide... P1999 Red works fine..

Oh, now that you mention it it did seem to happen more when I zoned into popular zones. Hopefully it is just something temporary and not a Linux-specific thing.

I have the opposite on a mac running wine. Now my load times are either unbearable or I just don't load at all.

Sorry to hear Loramin, must be frustrating. I had one bad zone, my first zone since the patch. It was in to Befallen. Had to end task. I haven't had a problem since, and have zone a few times. Including three times in to EC. Windows 10, however. I'm not sure if you can do the same with Linux, but setting the eqgame.exe file to Windows 7 Service Pack 3 resolved several zoning a crashing issues for me.
p.s. to others, you don't launch the game with the eqgame.exe. If you do, you may have to fresh install. Just set it to Windows 7 Service Pack 3.

Thanks, staff!
