Hello everyone,

First time EQ Player, ever. I started my gaming time as a child when WoW BC was released & never got to play EQ. Just heard about this throwback server & decided to start.

I've decided on a Necromancer as I played Warlock pretty heavily in WoW & they sound somewhat similar in certain ways: dealing with minions, DoTs, using health to switch to mana, kiting heavily, etc.

I've made about 10 characters & died trying to find the first quest master to turn my first quest in that you get in the inventory. I've finally figured out how to turn it in on a Gnome, so that is my first character.

If anyone would like to add me & play, that would be a lot of fun! Even if Necromancer is supposedly a super easy solo class, I'd still like to play with as many people as possible. My in-game name is : Danadiel. Don't hesitate to add me!

See y'all out there! :)

Very good choice! Remember while leveling that screaming terror is your best friend.

I think everyone can agree, you're doing it right.

It's always nice to see fresh blood! Take your time and enjoy yourself. This is a different pace than WoW, and don't concern yourself much with gear. You don't need much with the class you chose. WoW is gear dependant, EQ is absolutely not for many classes.

If you like your necro a lot you might eventually regret your decision to pick a gnome. Necro is one of the classes that gains a significant boost by being specific race: iksar. You will eventually get spells that allow you to convert your life into mana hence the regeneration offered by the iksar increases your ability the throw spells out. Good luck in any case. Basic newb tips: you might wanna make a /loc macro and a sense heading one as well, and work on raising the skill.
