Welcome to the Azure Guard recruitment thread!

We are always looking for quality people who might fit our team, regardless of class. If you enjoy the nostalgic charm of classic Everquest along with a healthy dose of end game raiding, then we might be the right guild for you!

Why should you consider Azure Guard?
Azure Guard is the longest-standing raiding guild on the server. Established in 2011, AG has adapted to meet the challenges of a raid scene that has changed dramatically since the guild’s inception. In a nutshell, Azure Guard is a competitive raiding guild with a relaxed social environment. All raiding is optional, and everyone is encouraged to play according to their own pace, schedule, and level of enjoyment. The guild will always raid, and you will always be invited. We do a little bit of everything – from epic fights, to cleansing the Planes, to slaying dragons in the Temple of Veeshan and plundering the Sleeper’s Tomb.

Code of Conduct
Treat others the way you want to be treated. Be respectful. AG is a borderline roleplaying guild in that we expect you to not only abide by the PnP, but also to be kind to others, particularly lower level characters, and to be a good steward of the blue server. We want to be a positive force on the server. We're not looking for lawyerquesters or people trying to push the line on what's legal and what's not on P99. This is a social game and if you're looking for pixels at any cost, we're probably not the guild for you.

Loot System
Azure Guard uses a DKP loot system. DKP is earned by attending raids, tracking raid mobs, and obtaining certain end-game raid support items. Players are allowed to bid for any character (46+) they have registered to the guild. This is balanced by a 3 tier loot system split between Mains, Second Mains, and Alts. This one of the most alt-friendly systems on the server, while ensuring mains have priority on the best of the best items. Our DKP system is used in almost all cases but rare epic pieces (ie. Green Scales), which are awarded via loot council.

Communication
Azure Guard utilizes a combination of Discord and Twitter to notify members of raid targets. Discord acts as an external guild chat, voice chat, and batphone. The majority of our raid planning, pulling, and strategy occurs in Discord. Twitter is used solely as a redundant batphone. You are not required to talk in Discord, but we do expect you to be able to listen and follow instructions should you choose to raid!


Interested in becoming a member?
Applying to the guild is not complicated. We only require that you have at least one level 46+ character to become a member. Applicants are only accepted after passing a guild-wide voting process. If you live up to the code of conduct and enjoy playing the game, you’ll be in good shape!

I'm a level 45 Warrior and just started playing on P99 at the end of December. Met Dregos early on and he's been a huge help and friend to me as I've leveled up.

Hi guys! What time do you normally do raids & organized activities?

Hail! We have a few scheduled raids throughout the week. Tuesday night we have our Sky night which starts at 7pm EST, then we typically try to get into Halls of Testing at least once a week in the evenings starting around 5 or 6pm EST and lasts a few hours. Those are the scheduled raids we have but we have many other targets we track as well as epic mobs, xp groups, and gear camps you could join on! Hope to see you soon!

Hello! I am returning after several years and my guild no longer exists (Divinity). I was hoping to find a guild similar to them and it sounds like Azure Guard is much like they were. Do you think I'd make a good fit? I play casually and can't spend more than 3-4 hours straight for raids (and not very often, a family man). Most of my characters were soloed up but in the off chance my schedule aligned I really liked doing raids. I'm always willing to help my guildmates out and I'm very friendly (no emotional mood swings :P, I like keeping the peace). Let me know what you think!

Moving forward, I recommend straight forward conflict resolution by handling the situation at the lowest level. At no point did I notice communication (ooc, shout, say, or tell) from you with any concerns. We would have fixed the situation at that time, instead of it being pulled into the forums without warning.

As I said, I apologize for the inconvenience. Two derps clearing the first floor of the tower and ruining your evening does not represent all of AG.

AG raids 24/7, whenever targets pop. I believe the minimum level for applicants is 46 with 50 being the minimum for full membership.

Tonight,

<Azure Guard> pulled off something truly remarkable, something that has NEVER BEEN DONE BEFORE - Tunare, the goddess of Plane of Growth, was killed with an entire zone wide kite. Many, many, high end guilds that I have personally been a part of have tried this and failed, from <Rampage>, to <Awakened>, to <Aftermath> and more.

In case you aren't aware how this works, gods such as Cazic Thule and Tunare call every mob in the zone to their aid. Since Velious release guilds have spent anywhere from 4 to 11 hours clearing the entire zone, only to get a chance at killing Tunare.

Today, that era is over.

<Azure Guard> has done the impossible through strategy and fellowship. Once in a great while meta shifting events occur here and it is really neat to be a part of that experience. It is a testament to the game Everquest itself and P99 how strategies can still optimized even in 2020 to keep evolving.

Hats off to the officers and tacticians who theory quested this plane of growth no-clear Tunare reality in to existence.

But I'm pretty sure we killed it in aftermath by dragging whole zone to opposite corner and killed the tunare before the mobs got back to us. Naethyn was banned during that time so we give him a break. He considers the time he was banned unaccounted for. So this makes sense. ;) ;)

Well I don't know if they changed it, but only reason guilds didn't kite the zone trash before, is we were told it was against the mechanics of Tunare and could be raid suspended for it.

So the way around that was to kite as far away from Tunare and then engage + drop kite same time so not breaking the rule of kiting mobs while engaged on tunare, and then dps burn Tunare before trash makes it back to the raid.

Ah ha, thank you monrezz, my mind was boggled trying to figure out what y'all did different lol. Naethyn threw me off with the first time thing, I was like what?? lol.

Jorlleag is a pain but it's kinda fun too...crazy it's like the hardest dragon now...hope they fix it one day...make it not Regen Mana so fast or whatever it does. Plus the ch recast is so random, sometimes right away sometimes 10 secs later, very annoying dragon /nod.

But ya the Tunare, I would like to do that burst dps thing sometimes but me personally, I still love the clear so much, and all the happy alts get fashion armor too :)

Another crazy fun cycle in <Azure Guard>

We've continued our domination of Sleepers Tomb. The loot is garbage most of the time, but the content is fun. My personal favorite zone, regardless of the 24hr windows and more miss-than-hit loot.

We believe in sustainability of the natural resources of Kael Drakkel. Namely the great King Tormax. So when we chopped that giant down this cycle we made sure to plant a new baby giant.
