Ranger Leveling first 40 lvls

I wanted to level a ranger, but with most melee i wanted him to be geared a little to make it enjoyable. My Question is With the gear that I have right now How far Can I solo with ease ?

Jade Mace / Lam
Banded everywhere else

I was hoping to just crush the first lvls easy but when will it really slow down?

If intent on DW you might change out the Jade for a Wurmslayer at lvl 30. That will do more damage until mid 50’s when your damage bonus starts closing the gap.

From panic animal to mid 40’s solo ranger is cake. After that it’s mob scarcity (WL tigerapters start greening) more than ability. I got a tolan’s bracer and did 45-54 bow rotting in HHk and various guards.

After that I dunno, still 54. Got tired of index finger clicks. Maybe grouping in KC?

After Tigeraptors go green in WL, shift to EJ... raging gorillas, raging tigers, and giant frenzied leeches are all animals and should con blue for soloing with Panic Animal if you can't get a group in CoM.

That set will get you to panic animal easily. I remember reaping through yellow and even occasional red snow leopards, they were butter to my hot knife silver swiftblade

Ranger is a great facetank soloing up until haze golems. After that their lack of defence skill ups makes them fall behind. They do get better at mitigating again at 51; I think there is a worn AC softcap that gets relieved then.

I did a lot of facetank soloing in ivy etched armour through the mid levels. Grouped in velks and kael which gave me the gear to solo Karnors Castle. I then got sky shrine quest armor to solo velks. Once I got both epics and haste cloak by 59 I was soloing frenzied velium broodling (was time consuming). I eventually dinged farming crap and keys for alts in TT.

I am just going to use jade Mace or Lamentation untill 20 then switch to Silver Swiftblade. When I hit 22 I should just focus on fear kiting animals untill forever?

Runed Oak Bow (http://wiki.project1999.com/Runed_Oak_Bow) is really nice at low levels.

It lacks stats, and has a shorter range than most bows, but is very cheap and does good damage. You'll find that a Runed Oak Bow + 150 range arrows should be sufficient for most of your pulling needs.

I'd avoid city of mist. Place is dog shit for exp. Go to OT instead. Fear kite Rhinos,tigresses,tigres ect. Kill berserkers and sneak turn in the braids for exp. Will blow through the high 30s-mid 40s in no time.

Just a small update, I made my guy with the gear above and using a Jace Mace. Let me tell you i am just trashing guys Jade Mace with Silver Chitten hand wraps is like a machine gun. Only thing is my HPs are low I think i messed up not buying HP/AC Rings.

Xaeophi gives good advise but looking for something to fill the gab between 25 to the time i go go and fear kite in OT. I do like High Zem, and enjoy using dungeons.

I'm biased, but I love Mistmoore for 25-35ish. After that there should be plenty of animals in Iceclad and EW to take you to mid 40s until WL raptors go green.

CoM has a higher ZEM than OT, and the zone right outside, EJ, has animals if you can't find a group. In my day, bards were kiting everything in OT but that maybe no longer the case with the swarmkiting nerf. Whichever floats your boat I guess.
