View Full Version : Starting Rogue - terrible idea?

Hi there -

Finally have some availbility to really dedicate some time to p99 and pumped to play here long term instead of a TLP.

Give it to me straight - I really want to play a rogue, is it a terrible idea making one as a first character?

My main concern is soloing obviously isn’t much of an option, but how easy in peoples experience is it to find a group? I’d hate to just sit LFG for hours without stuff to be productive in between groups.

If everyone confirms my fears I’ll figure it out and play something solo friendly, but would like people’s thoughts.

Make a rogue! Just have a solo alt for when finding a group is hard. From my experience though, finding a group won’t be hard as a rogue. Of course you will have those times when there are no groups. However, if there is a group needing dps, you will be their first choice.

I mained a Rogue as my first character on the server.

Got to 60 before I created another alt.

It's totally fine.

When you eventually create another alt, you think "Holy shit, this game is so easy!"

Dude my rogue was my second character, first was a ranger I only took to level 41. So believe me, it’s doable. Rogues are fun and as someone above has stated, you will be everyone’s first choice for dps. And why make a character you don’t want to play just to play the one you really wanna play. I say go for it, you can get decently geared for fairly cheap as you go. Just make sure you make a barbarian and dump all into stamina :D

Rogue was my first 60 on the server, loved it... would roll one again if a new server ever came up.

Groups love you, best sustained dps class of them all.
