Greetings everyone,

New player here and I'm interested in rolling a bard. I'm wondering if there are any links or class guides available on the forum? I'm still having a bit of trouble navigating my way around.

Thanks! :)

Start one before tonight! There is a cool X-mas (https://www.project1999.com/forums/showthread.php?t=313110) give away! You could win some items.

Almost everything you need to know about bards can be found here (https://wiki.project1999.com/Category:Bard_Guides). You may want to start with Thrasos's Bard Guide.

I personally think the bard guides on the wiki are a little weak. I referenced all of them and did my own googling when making/gearing mine. There isn't one master guide like there is for necros.

Join a guild early and don't be afraid to ask questions. When group members criticize you, listen to them! Bard's are a very unique class, and there are many different ways to play them. Out of all the classes, I think they are best learnt through practice rather than research.

Some goals I'd suggest to a new bard: swarm kite a large group of mobs, continuously twist 4 songs in a support role in a group, keep mobs mezzed while keeping mana/hp song up and meleeing, and split a camp with lull successfully. If you can do all these, you are on your way to being a good bard!

Twisting additional songs when doing CC as a bard is entirely dependent on the amount of mobs you are mezzing. If 1 or 2 mobs, sure.. keep mana, hp, etc going in between mezzes. If I'm mezzing 4+, I'll try to keep one charmed while mezzing the rest.

Being a bard is very fun, and very active... as long as you don't constantly seek to be the "Cleric group bard" on raids, that is. Even in that role, I will still move away from clerics long enough to OOS and attempt to put Fufil's on the mobs to make it slightly easier for shamans/enchanters to land slows during raids.

Just please don't be one of those bards who stands there singing songs in a group with an instrument out. That's all fine when the camp is clear, but when there's mobs, throw some weapons on and start meleeing while twisting! It's good training for later on in the bard life :)

Make sure to keep your defensive skills up. Bards can tank just fine but you'll need the accompanying skills (and gear)

Weapons decrease the effectiveness of some songs like regen up to 200-250% until you have epic please don’t trade that for some paltry melee dps
