We should ask Macron if a carbon tax works

Everyone should do small things on their own to begin with.

Use LEDs or energy saving lamps, start to recycling as good as you can, turn electric devices off when you dont use them, try to use your car effectively etc.

You dont need to be a hardcore hippie to do something good for our planet and your childrens futher.

Beside that, let your political representatives know that you care about this topic so they either force companys to work on it too, or give them benefits if they do.

Im doing my part. On top of avoiding processed foods, and the excessive packaging that comes with it...im heavily invested in NIO, Tesla, Wheaton Precious Metals, and Waste Management on top of driving a hybrid. So my investment strategy is in alignment with my beliefs about the importance of honoring our environment.

it's as possible to be a good steward of the earth without subscribing to the church of climatology as it is to be a good neighbor without subscribing to the Bible. many green practicies even align with short term self-interest: conserving electricity, recycling, fuel efficiency to name a few. most people just lack discipline and then also get annoyed when pious pricks malign their interests. The validity of the science is prohibitively difficult to grasp for most when it is most often delivered by fanatic disciples who regularly slander one's identity. In short, the world could use more patliek puppets.

because it always changes

And humans contribute.

When Huaynaputina erupted in 1600 it expelled over 7 cubic miles of particulate matter. The following year was the coldest in 6 centuries, causing crop failures all over the Northern hemisphere.

When Krakatoa erupted in 1883 the effects were felt worldwide. Global average temperatures dropped by over 1.4' C the next year, and the climate was chaotic for the next 5 years. The sky looked different for quite some time afterward, with the particulate matter creating a reddish hue, inspiring the backdrop of Edvard Munch's The Scream.

When human beings industrialized, they began injecting millions of tons of previously sequestered carbon and other gasses into the atmosphere, far outweighing the volume of matter expelled by these eruptions. The concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere has nearly doubled in the last 200 years, reaching levels not seen in the last 800,000 to 20 million years, at an unprecedented rate. CO2 and other greenhouse gasses have the opposite effect of particulate matter, trapping heat and causing an increase in global temperatures.

These conclusions are tested with the same scientific rigor as the sequencing of the human genome, the creation of nuclear weapons, the effects of leaded gasoline, asbestos, cigarette smoking, etc etc. If you doubt these facts at this point without reasonably falsifying the theory (hasn't happened yet) or putting forth a more plausible theory (hasn't happened yet), then you are simply ignoring reality.

That said:

1. It's already too late and the atmosphere has already been changed. Emissions only continue to increase and we are already seeing positive feedback loops > negative feedback loops.
2. We don't know if the effects will be net positive or net negative (probably negative)
3. There is no stopping 1 billion chinamen living in a selfish and destructive culture from destroying the planet even if every American and European goes green (they already grinding up baby rhinos for boner pills and read about bile bears). Never-mind the 2 billion Africans who are expected to industrialize late in this century.
4. Fascism is the only form of government capable of combating climate change, but was defeated in WW2.

Honestly the best chance we have as a planet is to leave the most advanced nations (technologically and culturally) un-tethered by strict greenhouse gas emissions (toxic air pollution is a different matter), so that they may continue to innovate and develop technology to save humanity (clinical immortality, self-aware self-improving artificial intelligence, genetic engineering)

What you absolutely shouldn't do is make ANY form of personal sacrifice for the sake of the climate. The people who own this country and own you sure as hell aren't giving up a single god damn thing.

well point 4 is correct, so it may stop the chinamen (the social credit system could in other words)

but yes, without fascism you cannot stop climate change.

Well, technically, a scientific "Theory" is a little more sound than mere speculation. Categorically speaking, "Theory" is a substantial upgrade from "Speculation", and essentially means it holds more explanatory power than anything else that has been proposed to date, but yeah its not like you're talking to the party of logic and rationality based on today's discussion so....

Could have had me fooled. Today they tried to defend setting up sharia law in the US as justifiable and legal under the first ammendment, quoting how civil courts allow them to mediate civil matters before bringing them into a real court as precedent lol.

This is what your fellow daffy relativists think counts as rational thought. Granted, im with ya on the whole theory vs speculation thin, but im not as sane as a delusional tranny that chops his dick off and parades around pretending to be a woman because he ate some hormone pills and mutilated his penis, so what do i know.

After all, im into reading banned fiction books so im obviously crazier.
