View Full Version : Starting over on P99! Questions about multiple accounts and IPs

So, I haven't played in many many years but I was able to recover my old account with a 29 wizard and some alts. Honestly, I'd rather start completely fresh on a new account, and just transfer my stuff over. But before I do anything, I want to get some rules clarifications. (I did go over the wiki, and checked a bunch of rules subpages, but couldn't find anything.)

First of all, is it okay for a single person on the same IP to have multiple accounts as long as they don't log into them both at the same time? I absolutely do not plan on boxing, and I have a friend that can help me do transfers and such.

Which brings me to my second question: is it okay to log in with the same account on multiple IP addresses in different locations? I have a non-EQ playing friend in a different city that will use my old account and trade my stuff over, and will also be able to do ports using my wiz if I need them. I don't see anything in the rules about this, and my main concern is that I don't want to trip something in the system that makes it look like I sold the account. So is it okay if he uses it, or will it be an issue?

I think this is all allowed within the rules, but I wanted to make absolutely sure before I did anything. The rules are kinda scattered all over the place.

The staff frown pretty hard on account sharing because it leads to headaches when things go wrong (eg. person A shares with person B, who later steals person A's stuff). But they don't actually ban it, so you're fine ... unless one of your friends betrays you in the future ;)

there's nothing to betray if all that account has is a naked 29 wizard tho.

you should be fine, transfer away!
