I was soloing Efreeti in solb with /hidec looted on well the efreeti spawned and I had an add. the Ring dropped and i hit escape and the corpse poofed. So i knew i hadnt looted it but the corpse going away made me forget. woops. Dj ring rotted

I remember once in kunark I was farming adamantite clubs back when they fetched a decent price. I remember killing him once, when he had it, as he fell down one of the floor traps and I couldn't loot him.

Problem was, ranger was in Fear and bound in Freeport. Alt wizard was parked at WC spire. The corpse was deep in Hate with pather repops. Not recharging my leatherfoot cap really dicked me over.

I think that most of us who farmed in Droga with any regularity during the Kunark days were saving and stashing Circlets of Shadow on mules in anticipation of the Velious nerf. But even so, many of them routinely rotted. If you already had one, and the guy camping Soothsayer also had one, there wasn't much impetus to want to corpse one if another dropped, so it would rot if no one else was around. And they were fairly common drops, so this happened occasionally. So in terms of eventual plat value, that's a fairly substantial rot.
