I thought the same thing, but its actually shaping up to be totally amazing.

Who knows if they'll deliver. So far they seem to be though. Its pretty amazing.

My brother is big time into star citizen, plays with the devs n shit, has a whole cockpit setup with joysticks and throttles n shit to turn his desk and chair into a spaceship

From what I've seen and heard, it looks amazing. Definitely not a failed kickstarter trainwreck as they've made lots of tangible progress with the game.
