Kanras-Src-Harmony fix
As a L9-10 druid I had been using harmony without noticing any problems before the patch. What was the fix?

Kanras-Src-Druid charm CHA equivalence identical to necromancers
Is this an improvement or nerf to either druids or necros? I don't know how the two classes compared before the patch.

I gather (from reading this forum) there have been some problems getting charm to work so I haven't bought any charm spells yet. On Live I didn't start charming until I discovered the Nadox piggies and I wouldn't mind experimenting with it at lower levels if it's viable with an ordinary untwinked charisma.

I believe necros are unaffected, and Droid charms rely less on charisma now.

Improvement to druids.
Charm duration is now based on your level, mob level, level of spell and magic resistance.

Glamor of Tunare has a use now.

So is charisma consulted at all? Should I still be using CHA gear, or switch back to mana?

level of spell

You mean the charm cap of the spell, right?

Two charm spells with different charm level caps will have the same resist rate if they have the same resist modifier check. Am i right?

Shaman charm was changed too?

(Keep in mind it only tracks changes from 2002 onward and always research responsibly).

They made Charisma a lot less important. One basic factor was that a druid halfling could never reach the same Charisma as say a Wood Elf, which meant one aspect of leveling was unviable, and thus penalized only the halfling.

Further, it was taken as proof of the way the mechanics actually were in classic (although it seemed to take some time to dig up, which is no surprise).

So basically, it means: Charisma is checked, but it's checked last and of least importance. Switch back to mana gear now :)
