I didn't like The Last Jedi. It was lazy left wing propaganda and had no relatable characters. The whole message of being against the rich is hypocrisy when Hollywood is the 1%. I felt like it had a vibe of misandry going on too.

The movie could have been good if they'd made Rey go to the Dark Side. Make an original character, we've already seen goody Luke. A clone isn't interesting.

The first 10 mins Poe makes some stupid snarky mom joke to the main villain. It just felt forced.

Granted, Han Solo was comedic and snarky but he wasn't as hammy.

The "Dark Side" was something to be feared and overcome, not to mock.

Anyway, Star Wars is gay, but even a non-fan sees the flaws.

It's cause her plan was dumb, and she could have just told them her plan. What sort of military commander doesn't tell their plan to their generals? Or generals to their officers, etc, etc. The logic of the mutiny was really dumb as was the fact it was just glossed over after the fact. And these sort of nonsensical pointless plot points kept happening. Luke being emo forever. The whole casino planet thing which had little to do wiith the rest of the story.

I don't necessarily disagree. I did see the merit in keeping it a secret. They got found out anyway and ruined.

I don't remember the books time lines, and many aren't Canon, but Luke went nuts / dark side in the stories. I'm guessing Rey may.

There's a big chaotic universe and as KoTR demonstrates, centuries to go back or forward into.

I think really cartoon villainy doesn't resonate with our generation. Kylo was a cartoon villain, and it felt week and forced.

There's the potential we'll see a Sith movie, Rogue One and Han Solo developed deeper themes. Han Shot first, and his girlfriend stayed behind with the syndicate.

Really the dark side of the force is hate, fear, anger, it's possible for those to be used by an antihero of sorts to topple another villain, only to consume the antihero. Anakin was supposed to be that, but Anakin wasn't really purposeful. He was reactionary. And he just "went insane".

Darth Vaders story is really the story of a villainous antihero. He was an effective and efficient tyrant that brought order to a chaotic universe, and his story isn't really told through Anakins flawed story.

I'm thinking a proper story with the right amount of conflict and depth would require more realistic intrigue and at a minimum 6 movies. I wouldn't want to set it around the skywalkers timeline, because that family is Lucus's baby. We can't undo the past.

We can re-write it however.

Anyway food for thought.

Imagine Sith Lord Maerilith turning a slaver empire on itself with piracy and espionage which turns into a tyrannical police state. Set to a Star Wars universe. Touching on the subjects of Huxlian dystopia and bodily autonomy and personal freedom.

Twoud be interesting.

I just liked the movie. I mean it wasn't great, and the flaws, Nexii points out are all totally valid. Buttt it was ok.

I watched it three times. Would snuggle with a wookie and watch again.

I think people who didn't like it are ok. It's just a little wacky to hate on it and call the movie some kinda deep state.
