Recently went to Okinawa and did a couple scuba dives down to the wreck of the WWII destroyer USS Emmons.

While minesweeping the waters off the main island of Okinawa in preparation for the land invasion, the USS Emmons was struck by 5 kamikaze pilots almost simultaneously. 60 men on board perished and an additional 77 we wounded and the ship was lost.

It now rests at about 40-45 meters (~140 feet) deep, which is now the deepest i've ever gone.

Some of the video footage coloring is a little weird. I was trying out a red dive filter on my go pro which was rated at 15+ meters. I figured at 40 it would work fine, but it still ended up causing everything to look red as fuck in the final video. I did what i could to correct it. Oh well, i'm still happy with the way it turned out.

Thanks. I spent a bunch of years there in the 60s.

Florida is definitely on my list. I'd really like to do some cave diving there.

Just moved back to the states after finishing a 5 year contract in Japan, so most of my diving has been in Asia. Saw lots of big fish while doing a liveaboard dive trip in thailand. Here's some of those videos ;)

Tateyama Sharknado - https://vimeo.com/245164655
Guam - https://vimeo.com/245164891

Did my first dives in the cold ass water of the Pacific Northwest last week. water was 12 degrees Celsius (about 55 freedoms). Didn't bring the go pro on those though since i wanted to focus on getting my shit together in a 7mm wetsuit.

Moving to the Netherlands in January, and i'm hoping i can stop in Florida for a few days on my way out. We shall see. looking forward to diving Iceland's Silfra rift, which means i'd better get used to cold water diving.

don't go into caves here, we have 15 foot eels , huge octopus and 2000 lb grouper

no caves are unclaimed, if you go in you might not come out

seems like most of the good ones are fresh water.
