You enchanters using the lvl 12 version or the 55 version?

I meant Memory Blur vs Memory Flux...derp.

Blanket of Forgetfulness is on a whole different level than every other memory blur. Not just that it's an AOE for half the mana cost of the 55 blur, it has a higher chance to blur since it is the only Enchanter memory blur that has two separate checks.

BoF works out to around an 80% chance to blur a 53+ mob when it's cast by a 255 CHA Enchanter according to in-era dev quotes, and an even higher chance to blur sub 53 mobs. There's hardly ever a reason to use any blur besides BoF in my experience. If Reoccurring Amnesia is ever fixed it might have it's uses, but right now it's useless.

Use blanket if you NEED to blur something.

Although sometimes I just spam mez on a lower level mob and wait for it to blur if I'm not in a rush

I always use Blanket.. That being said, I have no idea how it works.. I know there are two 20% checks, but I never understood the math behind it that makes have the very low resist rate.

Lvl 4 mez, the gift that keeps on giving (cheaply)

If you need to blur, start with lvl4 mez and blanket afterwards. Almost always success.
Very very rarely I use blanket and mem flux with cooldown refresher.

I never see blanket of forgetfulness for sale, which is sad because I'm 55 and still don't have it!

Go afk in ec for a day with logging turned on. Open log file, control + f for the spell, friend the sellers to keep an eye out for then being online to see if they still have it.

Or just ask drumas to search his logs for you. Tell him Tecmos sent you. He'll love it.

If P99 is the same as 2001 Live which seems likely the values for trying to blur a 53+ mob with 255 CHA would be

Mezzes (besides GoK/Rapture): 36.5%
Memory Blur: 45.5%
Mind Wipe: 50.5%
Reoccurring Amnesia*: 60.5%
Memory Flux: 65.5%
GoK: 65.5%
Rapture: 75.5%
Blanket: 80.2%

All of these would have a higher percent chance to blur on sub level 53 mobs.

*Pretty sure Reoccurring Amnesia is supposed to have a 36.5% chance to blur every tick and last several ticks but it's broken and the bug report hasn't been acknowledged so the 60.5% is based on it's current value on the wiki which may be wrong.

Depending on the mob, I'd have memory flux memorized for the same reasons I'd use Boltrans over Allure: cast time.

If you aren't fighting a summoning difficult/impossible to slow killing machine though, blanket is the way to go.
