View Full Version : A Druid in Cabilis

So way back when, I had a druid. I spent a ridiculous amount of time getting him non-kos in Cabilis. I couldn't go everywhere but I could carefully walk thru the city. I think I was even able to use a couple of vendors although I am not sure which.
I don't remember exactly how I did it. I think I gave bone chips to someone for a while and then I did some quests. Maybe used wolf form? I know it took a really long time and it is probably not worth it other than saying I did it.
Anyone remember how to do that? I think I would like to do it here on p99. Has anyone else done it? Do you remember how long it took you? If I do remember right, it literally took me (real world) months.

I'm not sure if wolf form will bring you to dubious (required faction for the turn in quest, according to the wiki) with the guards. It's easier if you're an assling druid, since you can Harmony the pack and use sneak to turn in bone chips.
Lots of killing in sebilis can get you there, too, but it takes a looot of dead frogs.

You can massacre sarnaks in LOIO fortress to (quite easily) achieve non kos faction with the Legion of Cabilis, the scaleboy Warrior Guild. These guys make up a lot of the guards.
However, this won't make you friendly with the Necro/SK guild and they constitute a large portion of cabilis and have some patrolling guards on their faction.
Based on your description, i believe this is probably what you are talking about.

Yo! I've seen a Troll doing this bone chip quest for faction in Cabilis. One tip I have for you that is on the same idea as Skarlorn's above:
There is a wandering SK Guard (with his small/red pet) that will still be KoS to you even after you're dubious with the turn-in guard. He paths *right by* the turn-in guard.
Thus, make sure to keep your eyes peeled and only do the turn-in when this pathing SK guard is not around. Please don't die like that poor troll and make sure you're bound somewhere on Kunark just in case (again, unlike the poor troll)
One final thing is that I think wolf form might actually hurt/lower the faction rather than help-- I remember during my first week of p99 thinking I was pretty cool for scoring a wolf-form in the pit on my Iksar. I then tried to run into Cabilis as a wolf and got promptly murdered by the guards at the gate

Thanks. I think it was probably a combination of these. Now I just need to level a bit to get my baby druid over there.

If you are farming a gobby ring in LOIO, you will get the warrior guild faction, but yeah, you need to have your head on a swivel for those SKs! Surprise HTs are their specialty.

You can also kill Iksar Pariah's/outcasts in Warslik's or Swamp of No Hope in order to raise warrior (Legion of Cabilis (https://wiki.project1999.com/Legion_of_Cabilis)) and Necro (Brood of Kotiz (https://wiki.project1999.com/Brood_of_Kotiz)) guild faction.
I think the only way to raise Shaman (Scaled Mystics (https://wiki.project1999.com/Scaled_Mystics)) and SK (Greenmist (https://wiki.project1999.com/Crusaders_Of_Greenmist)) guild factions is through quests (like said bone chip quest (https://wiki.project1999.com/Bone_Chips_(Quest)), which raises every faction but Necro)

Ah. I also remember camping the outcasts now. That was kind of fun. There are some damaged houses near a cliff that I camped for days on end.

I put my notes on doing this on my cleric in the above thread.

I am ally to most of cab (all but sk/necro guild and the non trooper guards) simply by living in Sebilis from 54-59. The mobs give + cab faction.

Nice. That's perfect.
Thanks.

I don't remember getting to ally. I think I was just somewhere around "not gonna kill you right now".
But maybe I will go for the gusto this time around.
If you ever plan on doing Chardok faction I'd recommend against maxing the Cab Warrior faction by killing sarnak's. Kill the exiles in the caves in WW and you'll get that faction plus the sk/necro faction too. There's a loop you can run around and agro ~20 of em and then pbae them down. Think it's a 7 min spawn too. That's how I maxed out those factions. It took me about 4k kills thanks to the various faction penalties.

Dark Elf SK here.... Im actually 'warmly' to Legions of Cabilis now, but as this thread mentions, still kos to other factions.... does anyone know if I could bank/sell at least with warmly to LoC? Otherwise, I guess I need to hit Kurn's and loot an entire inventory with bone chips (2 stacks of bone chips per +10 to all Cab factions)
Really just want to find a non-greedy merchant on Kunark to sell to..... paying for a port to sell, just to not get ripped off at OT outpost is counter-productive.
Also went from max KOS to warmly quickly from killing goblins in WW. Goblin fort with Grachnist the Destroyer. You get +10 Legions of Cab and +10 Firiona Vie faction per goblin, and there are ~25 in the camp, on a ~7 min timer.... so +250 rep both both cities every 7 mins... guess I could also check FV now too...

I am non KoS in Cabilis as a Rallos Zek Ogre Shaman. I hunted in Sebilis a lot which gave me the initial faction to turn in bone chips with guards. At 60 I could stand far enough away from the crusader not to aggro him. I then turned in between 11,000-12,000 chips to get to non-KoS with crusaders/apprehensive so that I could vendor. My faction did not change for a long, long time and I thought that it was not going to work. I bought the bone chips from my guildmates. A human rogue and druid from my guild are also non KoS in Cabilis. I think that less chips were required for them. I think I am still KoS to the Shaman/Necro guild because I did not farm the exiles that Mcoy mentioned above.

Once level 60 and non-KoS to the normal guards from hunting in seb, you can walk in/use the bank without drawing aggro because of their level.

Fixed all the cabilis faction as a human bloodsaber, took about 80 8bags of bone chips, stopped to take note at 67 as that made me non kos with all but the resident, which most are vendor anyway... Came back later to turn it just over 10 bags to make these useable with an ovp click

This guy in Cab buys and sells to everyone, and is non greedy.

I'd imagine you'd need Invis to reach him and it doesn't solve your banking situation, but there ya go.

For the banking you can go in invis, to make sure you don't get banker agro chaining to guard agro, go out of banker line of sight (it's easy) and bank while kos, without sneak or fd...
Good luck if you decide to do it! I'm a tunare druid and I'm working my way towards being able to walk through cabilis safely.
I camped iksar outcasts in the cave in warslik until I was dubious to troopers and then started handing bone chips into trooper Mozo in fob. Currently amiably with troopers, still kill on sight to other cabilis factions so far though.
If you hand in bone chips to mozo when you first start make sure the crusaders aren't near cabilis zone line...if they decide to go patrolling while you're there you'll get your butt whooped...even if you try to hide in the corner...from experience. lol
